From the Stars

Chapter 1

A large silver sphere streaked through the sky, glowing oranges it broke through the atmosphere. A sonic boom sounded like thunder as the grassy plains beneath it grew closer.

A three-story white manor house came into view, moonlight giving the barest glimpse of the dark shutters accenting each window.

A blue dome burst to life around the manner as the sphere drew closer, the bright fluorescent light causing the stars to disappear.

The sphere slammed into the dome, sending a shudder through it, electricity arced off the point of impact as magic fought against the forces of physics.

After what seemed like an eternity the barrier faded, and the sphere drop to the ground with a resounding thump that shook the earth.

The black double doors of the manor house flew open, the light inside reflecting off the brass handles.

A woman stepped out, her braided blonde ponytail bouncing as she jogged into the yard. Her blue eyes locked on the sphere, her slender hands curled into fist, red light shone beneath her pale robes, revealing the runes tattooed into her skin.

A man strode out behind her, the light breeze sweeping its fingers through his dark hair, his Hazel eyes locked on the sphere. Silver rings on his hand shone with power, creating runic circles around each hand, "What do you think it is Doria?"

"I don't know Charlus."

They both drew closer.

With a hiss that caused both to tense, rectangular slits opened on the sphere. Rainbow colored light shot from the slits forming into a red-haired woman with striking emerald eyes. A black bodysuit hugged her curves. She looked straight at them, the loop her red hair was made into bobbed at the back of her head.

A muscular blue skinned man appeared beside the woman, his long dark hair framing an angular square jawed face, his Brown eyes full of exasperation as he stared down at her, "I still don't see why would doing this Lil Lee."

"Because Coriander, you never know what could happen, and it's better to be prepared," the redhead countered in a tone that said this was an old argument.

The man crossed his large arms over his thick chest, facing forward, "Fine, let's just get this over with."

"Hello," Lil Lee began facing forward, "if you are seeing this message, then it means something has happened to us and we must ask you to do us a great favor."

"However, first a little history, Lil Lee gestured to herself, I am Lil Lee, a Malthusian from the planet Maltus. Our race is highly advanced, most of them studying the universe." She gestured to the blue skinned man, "my husband and I, Coriander are different. Coriander wanted to experience the universe, not just watch, I was interested in the mystical energies that seem to permeate everything, otherwise known as magic. A substance our people thought was too unpredictable."

"We left our planet together. For a billion years, we have traveled the universe, seeing great wonders and tragedies, but now," a slender hand drifted down to her flat stomach, "the greatest wonder is growing inside of me. I make this message in case something happens to me, I ask you to raise our child is if he was your own."

"I know this is a lot to ask, but this pod was programmed to find people that would be receptive of the request. Raise him well, let him know that his parents loved him, and I promise he will change your world for the better."

The images faded, the rectangular slits on the side of the sphere enlarged, revealing a soft interior. Nestled inside the velvet purple cushions was a blue skinned babe, a tuft of red hair standing out starkly against his odd skin.

His small face scrunched up, his little eyes opening to reveal two striking emerald orbs.

Wind swept through the Valley, causing the child to shiver.

Doria blurred forward, the runes on her body still shining brightly. She scooped the child up in her arms, cradling him against her chest. Turning, she stared at Charlus, "We will call him Harry."

Charlus stepped back, his eyes wide, "Are you crazy," he exclaimed, his loud voice causing the child to burrow deeper into Doria, "we can't take him in."

Doria's blue eyes narrowed, "Keep your voice down! And why not?"

In a much quieter voice, Charlus stabbed a finger at the baby in her arms, "He is blue! I think someone's going to notice us walking around with a blue baby."

The child shimmered, his visage becoming like water for a moment. When it faded, a child with blonde hair, and Hazel eyes stared up at Doria, his tiny hand reaching for her woven blonde hair.

Charlus's jaw dropped, and a slow smirk spread across Doria's face, "You were saying."

Charlus's shoulders slumped. "We're going to need some help teaching him. I'm not sure it would be wise for him to go to Hogwarts with everything happening right now."

Doria's grip subconsciously tightened on the child, her face twisting into a frown. The year was nineteen fifty, mutants, humans with extraordinary abilities, were starting to come on the scene. World governments were beginning to use them as weapons; she glanced down at the baby. They would do the same with an alien child. "We'll call Nicholas and Perenelle."

Not only did the alchemist and his wife have contacts in the mundane government, they also worked with them in MI five to help keep magical conflicts from spilling over into the mundane world. Recently, the four of them had been advocating for the magical world to accept mutants.

It was slow going, but there were making some headway. Especially once Charlus pointed out the kind of power adding a mutant's blood to a magical bloodline could produce.

Charlus raised an eyebrow. "You think that won't draw attention? Most people know that we've been struggling to have a child. They don't know about my curse that prevents me from having them. It would be natural for us to be protective. Besides, Nicholas and Perenelle are over six hundred years old; do you truly believe this is the strangest thing they've seen?"

Releasing a breath, Charlus turned; I'll go get the adoption ritual set up.

Doria nodded, following her husband inside, the adoption ritual was a ritual use to add new blood into a family line that would otherwise go extinct, while Charlus's family wouldn't go extinct, because of some cousins, it would still be interesting to see what this little guy would do in the future.

Harry Julius Potter stood on stage with the other Hogwarts professors as Filius Flitwick, headmaster of Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry wobbled on his books as he introduced the class of 1978. His large ears wiggled in excitement with his words, his long fingers twitching at his sides a habit he told Harry in private that was left over from his days in the dueling circuit.

Harry looked down His grey suit and black button-down shirt feeling a little odd around all the robes.

His gaze swept over the students, taking in some of the strange ones, a student with lizard scales covering his body, released fire from his clawed hand in celebration. A girl with pointed ears transformed into a spout of water and launched herself ten feet into the air.

A slow smile spread across his face, his parents would be happy if they could see this, they fought so hard to get mutants asylum in the magical world. It was ironic that quite a few mutants had a talent for at least one type of magic.

As the students began shifting, congratulating their friends, or moving over to parents, Harry turned to stare at the castle in which Hogwarts resided, taking in its towers and bridges. He was never able to go here himself, his parents too afraid that he may slip up and reveal his unique heritage, but Nicholas, a world-renowned alchemist, and his wife, Perenelle, a charms mistress, runes mistress, and spell creator along with his parents trained him well. Allowing him to gain a Masters in alchemy as well as other subjects by the time he was fifteen.

He caught a flash of red out of the corner of his eye.

He watched Lily Evans a 5'4" crimson haired young woman with bright emerald eyes move over to her friend, Severus Snape, shadow hit her as his tall 6'0" form blocked out the sun. Dark eyes looked at her with a hint of longing, and his hook nose twitched as his lips curved into the barest hint of a smile.

The two had been friends since they started at Hogwarts, both prodigies of the magical arts, with Lily focusing on runes and charms, while Severus enjoyed potions, and the dark arts.

Both had taken his class alchemy, he enjoyed watching them grow, but Severus's desire for recognition and power worried him. He knew Severus was now in contact with the Dark Lord Gellert Grindelwald. Grindelwald had been recruiting some of the brightest minds for an unknown purpose the past couple of years.

In a day or two, he was going to bring Grindelwald to Lily. The Dark Lord would offer Lily a chance to join his organization, if she refused, Ms. Evans would die.

Harry's hand curled into a fist, he would not let that happen, he would not let his parents murderer kill again.
