Max's Time Manipulation

"Wowzer, that was amazing, Chloe."
"You better not go rewinding this, either. Especially just to experience it again."
"I don't think I could. I'm too exhausted. Both from what we just did, but also from using my powers."
"Wait, what do you mean, using your powers?"
"Please, don't be mad at me, Chlo. I've been practicing with my powers, trying to feel where my limits are and trying to push past those limits without damaging myself, and trying to unlock new abilities."
"Like, what kind of abilities?"
"Remember when I saved Kate from jumping off the roof? Remember how I told you that I somehow froze time long enough to reach her?"
"Yeah, I remember you told me about that. So you've been practicing trying to figure out that power?"
"I kind of have it mastered, I think." Max was sitting up, now, looking down at the bed, her face hidden by a curtain of hair. "Wait, you did not freeze me, did you?" Max bowed her head even further. "You did! You froze me, you jackass! What the hell?!" Max spoke so quietly that Chloe could barely hear her. "I was scared. This was my first time; with anyone. I was having trouble…"
"What, getting in the mood?"
"No! I was definitely in the mood! But my body was having trouble…sort of…getting there. So I froze time to give myself a chance to clear my head and focus on what we were doing and how I was feeling, rather than worrying about whether I was doing good, or whether you liked what I was doing, or if I was any good."
"Max, you didn't have to worry. I loved what you were doing. Trust me. And Max, next time you're lost in your head and worrying about how good or bad you are, talk to me. Making love isn't just the physical act, it's also about the emotions behind it; it's about laughing and enjoying being together; it's about learning about each other; it's about communicating, talking to each other. Not like an everyday ordinary conversation. I mean if we're talking about who's turn it is to take out the garbage, or who's going to pick up groceries while we're doing it, just shoot me. I'm talking about telling each other what we want, what we're feeling, what we want to do, if something feels good or not, that kind of thing. So, next time, talk to me, instead of freezing time. Okay?"
"Okay. Sorry. I just kind of needed a few minutes, but next time, I'll talk to you and not freeze time."
"You gonna rewind and try again?"
"No. I don't want to rewind, because then we wouldn't have had this conversation, and even though I'd remember it, you wouldn't, and I wouldn't want to take that away from you. Where did you learn to be so mushy?"

"Don't be mad, baby, please?"
"You learned that from her," Max stated. "Yeah." Chloe smiled a small smile at Max, who leaned in and whispered, "I don't want to rewind, but I definitely want to try again." Chloe laughed out loud, grabbed her girlfriend around the waist and drew her down on top of herself, kissing passionately.
