This is based on chapter 2 of my other story, 'It started at the beach', when Sari tells Bumblebee about her nightmares. What are they really like?
Disclaimer:I don't own Sari, Bumblebee, or any of the autobots.
Ducking into the nearest alley, Sari hid behind a dumpster until she was sure the tutor-bot had left. Congratulating herself on her newest escape, she headed towards the old factory where the autobots lived.
She found all of them grouped together in the hall by the med. wing, whispering urgently.
"...should send out retrive party..."
"...what does he mean by this?"
"...how will Sari take it?"
Sari tiptoed forward until she was directly behind them, then spoke.
"How will I take what?"
All the autobots jumped, making the factory tremble.
"Sari!" said Optimus, a bit flustered. "Aren't you supposed to be with your tutor-bot?"
Sari shrugged. "It got boring. So I ditched him." she put her hands on her hips. "Don't look so surprised! Don't I do this all the time anyways?"
No bot answered. Sari looked to each of them, and none of them would meet her gaze. Suddenly she realized something.
"Where's Bumblebee?"
The silence was so heavy that it seemed to turn Sari's heart to lead. She started to panic.
"Where is he?!"
Ratchet knelt down to her level. "Sari...we woke up this morning and he was gone. He left only this note." He handed her a small (to the autobots) note.
Dear friends,
I have decided that Earth is simply not the place for me. By morning I shall be gone and you shall have no more trouble from me. Don't bother searching, for even if you find me I shall not come back. It has been an honor working with you all. Tell Sari goodbye for me.
Goodbye forever, autobots.
--Bumblebee
Sari looked up from the note with tears streaming down her face.
"Sari..." the autobots moved towards her.
"No..." she whispered. They froze.
"He can't be gone...he can't!"
Prowl leaned down. "Sari, there are some things in life that--"
"No!" Sari shouted, and threw the note at him. Prowl jerked back, startled. "Don't you understand?! He was the world to me!" she paused. "And I didn't even get to say goodbye." She stood there for a long moment, tears pouring out straight from her soul, wishing that she had had the guts to tell him how she felt. Optimus laid a finger on her shoulder, and she stiffened, and knocked it away.
"Don't be like this Sari..."
"Don't you tell me what or what not to be like! You didn't even try to stop him! You're not a hero at all!" She turned and ran outside towards the park. As she ran, the heavens opened up and rain poured down. Saltwater mixed with freshwater on her face in cool streams, and she whispered Bumblebee's name over and over.
When she reached the park, she stood with her head bowed, letting the rain trickle down her back and under her clothes, soaking them.
Slowly she dropped to her knees, unaware of the mud surrounding her. Her breathing grew ragged with heavy sobs, and she was the picture of sorrow.
Suddenly she threw back her head, hair plastered to her face, and lifted her arms to the heavens, letting loose one word of despair.
"Bumblebeeee!!"
Gasping, Sari awoke from her nightmare, covered in a cold sweat all over. She wrapped her arms around her knees and cried for a long time. Finally she got up and made her way through the vast halls of the factory until she arrived at a certain autobot's room. Climbing up onto his bed, she walked onto his chest and watched him, deep in a peaceful recharge. Softly she stroked the face of the one she loved.
"Don't you ever leave me, Bumblebee."
