England was a smart boy, maybe not in the same way as France was with art and music, but in the way of people. Where they lived, what they worked as, what their background was and he was certainly street smart. And he loved rubbing it in the Frenchmans face.
So when france asked him to find some girl England thought it was just another chance to show off to Francis, to make him notice that Arthur could be just as intelligent as he was. He didn't however, think that finding this girl would give him a heartache that he never experienced.
He found her house. That was easy enough, she was a high society girl who's father though they were in fact French and only staying in England for a few days had work with Arthur before. Once he had found this he reportethis information back to Francis who, to Arthur surprise, demanded to be taken to the house and drag Arthur back through the streets of London.
When they finally reached the house, his curiosity got the better of him and Arthur had to ask "Why did you drag me here so quickly? What is the fascination with this girl?"
Francis turned quickly and explained that he had never felt this way about a human this way, 'she lightens his soul' Arthur noted, he had always loved Francis's soul. It was almost as beautiful as Francis himself, it was true that Arthur had been in love with Francis for along time, it had taken him a while to accept himself but he had never told a soul and had defiantly hadn't mentioned it to Francis.
Hearing the person you love talk about someone else the way you think of them hurts. Hearing France wish how he could be human and him thanking England for finding the love of his life shot daggers through Arthur's heart. Did Francis not know that all he had to do was ask and Arthur was his. Forever. They wouldn't need anyone else.
Forcing a smile Arthur turned ready to leave when he heard the rustling of a tree near by, looking up he saw Francis wiggling his way over the gate.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Arthur loudly whispered. It was late and he didn't need the girl or her father to raise the alarm.
"Wait here I have to see her" Francis whispered to him as he hopped over the fence calmly.
"Waiting here" Arthur sighed to himself sliding down the wall and watching Francis through the thin steel bars.
She was very beautiful Arthur notices long blonde hair, strange her wandering around her garden as if she was looking for something. She jumped as Francis touched her shoulder, he raises his hands to show he was to here to hurt her.
Francis started to talk like a poet "A heart full of love. A heart full of song" he seemed to snap out of his trance "I'm doing everything all wrong" Francis started walking to the fence. He suddenly turn and ran a hand through his shoulder length blonde hair "Oh God, for shame, I do not even know your name"
He held the girls hands and sighed "Dear Mademoiselle. Won't you say?
Will you tell?"
"I.." She started, blushing as she took her hands back "I am Jeanne, Jeanne d'Arc" Francis smiled bright and stated his name. They talked a bit more Arthur wasn't close enough to hear them until the came back to the fence. Francis began climbed over, stopped, went back to Joan and said something about the sky to her, "A night bright as day" she replied "And you must never go away" Francis countered as he spun the girl around smiling. Placing the girl back on her feet Francis moved her hand to his heart "A heart full of love" Jeanne did the same and stated "A heart full of you"
Arthur stood up to leave he couldn't take this anymore. 'He was never mine to lose' his mind screamed over and over again, "why regret what cannot be?" He whispered as he felt Francis's presence behind him. One more goodbye to this girl then they were on their way, Francis promising to visit everyday and England swearing to himself to never return.
