My bushy, black tail swished behind me as I walked towards the entrance of my makeshift home. AKA, an abandoned warehouse. My sensitive cat ears pick up on a distant sound from somewhere by the woods. I peek my head out of the door and spot a golden flashing near the rim of the trees. A few seconds later, a dark-haired boy and a blonde-haired girl dart out of the woods, trailed by some weird seal things. Huh. You don't see that every day, I thought.
I decide they need help and I quickly duck inside, yanking my bow and quiver from the floor as I hastily shimmey up the ladder leading to the roof. I stealthily sneak in the shadows, hiding from the seal-things sight. I notch an arrow into my bow and take aim to the nearest creature waddling slash hopping towards the two teens. My arrow flies through the air and gouges itself into the skull of the creature, resulting in a poof of golden dust. What. The. Bleep, I thought. The girl freezes in fear, searching the rooftops trying to find the cause of the monster's glittery combustion, but the boy urges her on. I only hesitate for a minute, but then continue to fire arrows at the unsuspecting monsters.
It takes a while, but all of the couples' pursuers are dead. Well, kind of, if you count being a pile of dust being dead. I hop down off of the roof, using my super cool cat powers to kind of not die. I turn to see a giant golden sword pointed at my throat. "If you didn't want me to save your butts, you could've just said so. Now please put the pointy object away from my jugular. Much appreciated." I said. The boy's glare is replaced by a confused look, but the girl's doesn't sway. "Why did you save us?" She asks, menacingly twisting her dagger in her hands. "You just looked like you needed some help. My bad for trying to be a Good Samaritan" I huffed.
She rolled her eyes and let it go. "Would you like to come inside?" I ask, just noticing the assorted deep gashes, bruises, and scrapes in their heads, arms, and legs. They stiffly nod and walk into my glorious mansion, note the sarcasm. I flick the light switch and close the large door behind them.
My 'house' basically consists of a crappy couch, a creaky bed in the corner, and a box. But it's a special box. Just kidding, it's a cardboard box I stole from a homeless guy. The only thing special about it is that it holds my small amount of clothes, most littered with holes and dirt stains.
The boy and the girl walk over to the couch, but stay standing. The girl pops a small cake thing from her bag and splits it between the two of them. As they munch down, their injuries dissappear before my eyes and I gasp. The girl looks towards me and mumbles, "Not like your used to normal yourself". I cock my head to the side, "What do you mean by that?". She looks surprised and points to my head and back. "Oh yeeeeaaaahhh. I forgot about those" I stated quite stupidly.
"What exactly are you?", the boy asks. "She's a neko, don't be stupid, Percy" the girl replies quickly. "Yep. What she said. Like I totally know what that means" I said. The girl face palmed. "Okay. You're obviously too stupid to try to attack us and you have terrible living quarters, so I feel obliged to ask you if you want to come with us to our camp" the girl stated. "I don't know who you are. For all I know, you could be extremely aggressive serial killers. Okay, I'll come with you!" I said.
She, once again, face palmed. "I'm Annabeth Chase and this is Percy Jackson" she stated, once she got over my pure dumbness. "Awesome. I'm Ivy. Just Ivy. Nice to meet you. We can head out at any time you like" I replied. She nodded and we set off on the trek to their 'camp'.
