"Courage is the force that creates history"
He was running. To where, he had no idea. All he knew was that he had never felt so alive. His body was moving the thick forest with amazing speed. His heart was pounding faster than usual, every cell in his body felt as if it was on fire. He kept running
He finally came across a clearing. Something in him told him to stop. He lifted head to the sky and took a deep breath of fresh air. The air here was clean; it smelled like fresh pine and rainwater, nothing like the city air. All polluted by exhaust fumes and co2. He stood at the center of the clearing. It was evidently small and surrounded by monumental pine trees and tiny shrubs. He stood still for a moment, and then he saw it, saw what he had been waiting for. There were four of them. They were colossal in size, with sharp teeth and claws. The one in the front was the biggest one out of the four. He had black fur and sharp green eyes. The two next to him had ash blond fur and matching gray eyes. The one standing in the far corner was the smallest. It was a little bit smaller than he was but had menace hazel eyes that was look him over. He seemed the most cautious out of the four and the one to react to any small change of plan.
Slowly he took one-step at a time toward the four wolves. He was careful not to take his eyes off them incase they tried to attack him. If they advanced, he would be ready to run. He could feel the blood pounding in his head, as he got closer and closer to them. Every muscle in his body was tense waiting for something to happen. He was a good five feet away from them when he stepped in a pothole. He tripped and then everything became a blur. The smallest wolf moved with outstanding agility and was on top of him in less than a second. The last thing he saw was the wolf's sharp teeth inches away from his face and the satisfied look in his hazel eyes. Then everything went black.
Adrian woke up with a jolt. The clock on his table read 7:45. Shit, Im going to be late. Again! He jumped from his bed and ran to the bathroom, only to find it occupied. Damn, who is still using the bathroom? Both his parents worked early shifts at their job and were usually dressed and eating breakfast by 7:30. He waited impatiently in front of the door for a few minuets before thinking better of it and ran to his room to get ready. I can brush my teeth after I wear my clothes, he thought. He looked at the clock and now it said 7:55. Man, im never going to make it. The principle said I'll get detention if im late again. He went to his closet and started looking for something decent to wear. He pulled on a plain black t-shirt and faded blue jeans. He was about to pull on his shoes when he noticed the mud on their soles. What the hell. How did this happen. He turned the shoes over to get a better look and saw a leaf stuck to his left shoe. That's odd, he thought. Its wintertime so there should not be any leaves on the trees. Before he could think about it more he heard the bathroom door open and ran to use it.
