I typically think of Ziva and Tony when I listen to Sinatra and Dean Martin. I don't know why, I just feel like most of their songs can be used for Tiva. Anyway, I was listening to Something Stupid by Sinatra, and had to write this.
Tony kicked the wall of his apartment after slamming the door. Pain shot up through his leg, but it was nothing compared to the anger the filled his body.
Everything had been going right, but he had to be an idiot. He never should have said it. He had ruined everything by saying it.
They were on a mission, and he, as a business man, had asked her to dance. It was meant to be a way for them to pass information from one to the other. The music, however, had drawn them closer in the dance, and had shut their mouths.
He had just held her as the soft tune filled to room. His arms were around her waist, while hers were around his neck. She had laid her head on his chest, and had listened to his heartbeat. He had hummed along with the music.
Then he had said it.
"I love you."
Three simple words, but one powerful statement. He had felt her tense up, and some of their connection was lost.
The music stopped, and she was instantly lost to the crowd. He had hung his head in defeat, a rouse for the mission, and a sign of his pain.
They hadn't spoken since then.
It had been a beautiful moment, one of the best in his life. How could he spoil it by saying something so stupid? He had done nothing but push away the one person that meant everything to him.
I may add more, from Ziva's POV, but I want to try and find another song. Until then, it will be considered complete. Please review. I own neither NCIS nor the amazing music.
