That was it. The final sheet of paperwork was signed off and filed. The raven-haired alchemist leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms behind his head, propping his feet up on the desk. Just as he began to doze off, drifting slowly into slumber, there was a gentle wrapping on the office door.
His eyes snapped open as he fumbled to regain his composure, folding his hands neatly while resting his chin in them; all supported by his elbows. "Come in!" he called, focusing on the ivory entryway on the opposite side of the room.
"Colonel," an all-too-familiar woman with her usual blonde locks that were loosely gathered at the back of her head crossed the threshold, "Fullmetal is here to see you." As her stern announcement concluded, a shorter boy with bright amber irises revealed his presence, stepping from behind her. He wasn't wearing his usual garb; just in his leather pants and a light tee.
He was small in stature, sure, but he had a substantial amount of muscle mass for a mere fifteen-year-old. The Colonel noticed this, as his left and only bicep was seemingly about to burst the stitchings of his sleeve. He couldn't help but find some sort of attraction to his underling; but whenever thoughts like that snuck their way into his mind, he extinguished them immediately. He found it immoral to have said feelings for someone so much younger than him.
"Ah, Edward," he began, resisting the urge to get lost in his eyes with much difficulty, "What exactly are you here for? And, Lieutenant Hawkeye, you're dismissed. Thank you," His subordinate bowed her head, about-faced, and made her way out of the office, shutting the door behind her.
Ed gazed down at his feet for a moment, kicking lightly at the floor. "Mustang, I don't know how to say it," his voice quivered, "but.. I want you to teach me flame alchemy."
Roy was surprised at Edward's inquiry, that being evident in his reaction. He looked up at his fellow State Alchemist abruptly, eyes narrowing. "No," he said flatly, now standing up. "Do you realize how dangerous flame alchemy is? It took me years of study from Riza's.. I mean.. the Lieutenant's father," Mustang was getting off on a tangent, his tone more grim, and his voice increasing in volume. "I can't possibly pass on such a destructive art, the Lieutenant and I both decided to end flame alche—"
The Colonel was interrupted by the intense feeling of being hit square in the chest by a speeding freight train. He fell backwards onto his chair, the Fullmetal Alchemist now on his lap, gripping at his collar.
"You don't know when to shut the hell up, do you?" Edward whispered into Roy's ear, a hint of seduction in his breath. This sent shivers of ecstasy up and down Mustang's person, and even more so when he realized that their lips were intertwined. The Colonel could feel the pure passion that Ed was putting out, and he tried his best to return the favor. He wrapped both arms around his smaller partner, pulling him closer into himself, never wanting to release.
Unfortunately for the Flame Alchemist, they couldn't stay like this for eternity. Ed was the first to move his head away, and Mustang pulled from the embrace; staring lovingly at the boy on his lap.
Edward's expression hardened, "Don't you fucking dare go around telling your fellow officers about this." He poked Roy's chest with his metal finger.
"I won't say a damn thing, you can count on that."
