V.O. MERIDA: " some say the past can haunt you, others say that the past is a blessing of the future. do i believe it? well i had a friend in the past... that became more to me in the future."

-
in the cave of the great fire cove right over the mountains of the fire falls two six year old kids were playing in the warm brightness of the cave. in the caves were pictures, pictures of their tribes of the past, each one tells a story. one of the kids, a little curly red haired lass was drawing a picture of her and her best friend Charles Mordu'. after the young girl was done she turned to her best friend.

"hehe, were always going to be friends right Charles?" the young princess Merida asked the boy with the long brown hair and brown eyes.

" well lets make a oath." Charles said as he lift his right hand up and Merida did the same.

" i swear that we will always be friends, whatever happens, whatever we do, we will never forget each other. promise?" Charles finished.

" promise." Merida said.

suddenly their moment ended fast as Charles parents called for him.

" i have to go." Charles said as he got up. " see you tomorrow?" he asked Merida?

" yea." the young princess said.

Merida watched her friend leave, and she made the finishing touches on her painting. she smiled at her work of art.

" see you tomorrow Charles."Princess Merida said as she packed up are things and headed home.

-
the next day Merida got up and dressed. she told her parents that she was going to the fire cove. hoping to see her friend again. but as she reached the cave he wasn't there. so she waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more.

" oh i'm so sorry Merida." the queen said to her daughter as she picked her up from her spot and headed home.

and that was the last time Merida ever saw Charles again... until today!
