A/N:Hey,guys.I'm writing this story based on a post of pinterest. This is Why Me?Enjoy!Chapter 1: Prologue

Flashback

The sound of metal clanging against each other enhanced my reflexes. But the goddess, Khione would not give up. Her soothing voice told me to sleep, but underneath the beauty, she was very, very wicked. I'm not exactly sure how it happened -but, within seconds- I was frozen.

Khione smiled warmly, yet in her eyes I could see what she was feeling.

She carefully opened the small vial of greek fire and poured it over my ice encased body.

I felt like I was in hell. I was being burned alive...

Mari's POV

My mom is so jarring.

She keeps telling me she has something to tell me then shies away when I bring it up. I guess I should just give her time. I mean, apparantely, her childhood was disturbing and me having a sibling any time soon isn't going to help. She's ready to talk now. This better be good.

Oh. My. God.

I mean gods...

You know those greek mythology stories that your crusty old history teacher from elementary school would tell you after show and tell. Y'know, the ones about Zeus and and the olympian gods.

Well, it turns out they're true.

My mom and dad are living proof of that.

I just I can't believe it.

Flashback

" Your father and I have something to tell you.Do you remember when it was June and you made snowflakes fall out of the sky?"

" How could I forget, Mother? You told me it was magic."

"That day, your mother wasn't lying. She was simply stating the truth."

"Yeah, right. Nice prank, parents!" I said plugging my earphones in my ears.Only I didn't get that far.

"Marilynne Elise Song, I am serious. Do I look like I'm joking?"

I stared at her, my eyes bulging unattractively and my mouth hanging open.

"Close your mouth! Goodness,Marilynne, haven't I taught you anything about etiquette?"

"Your mother is-was- the greek goddess of snow. However, when we met, she willingly gave up her immortality. I am the grandchild of Euterpe, muse of music, and the only male siren in written history, Calventos, the charmer. My mother, sadly enough, is dead.I never knew her. And the killer was your mother..."

"Holy Hera,Mom! Did I get it right?" He nodded.

"Mari, before you go, I want you to have the sword made of my mother's ashes."

Elise's POV

I was wandering around Elysium when I felt a tugging in my stomach.

I was going back to the mortal world...
