Link brought a hand to his head to prevent his green cap from being pulled off. The breeze felt like it went right through him! He pulled his legs closer to him as he stared off across the dark water. The wind blew some more and made the small damp hill look like it was rolling. Link shivered and rubbed his hands together at a futile attempt to keep warm. He was at Lake Hylia, in front of the fishing hole. His gaze remained staring at the ripples in the water created by the wind, before it rose towards the night sky, the stars twinkling down on him. He noticed that it had a reflection in the water and he suddenly had an odd need to try to reach for it, to touch it. He bent forward on his knees and crawled closer to the water and stared. Some small groups of fish zipped by, leaving ripples and breaking the stars. A small smile made its' way across his childish face as he felt peaceful. He reached out and touched the water, closing his eyes. He giggled as the water seeped in between his fingers and made his skin tingle.

He was a hero even though he was only ten. After a day of constantly having to save people, it was definitely nice to relax a little. His shoulders felt like a heavy weight were lifted off them. He opened his big bright blue eyes, a satisfied look on his face. He swam back to the other side, near that old professor's house. He stood up soaking wet and hands balled into fists as he stared his reflection down. Fun times with Saria and the other kokiri rushed back to him, when they would play in that small pond near the only shop in the village. He gave out a loud sigh as he swept his wet straw colored bangs to the side, beads of water flying off. His gaze returned to his reflection.

He furrowed his eyebrows and he could've sworn he saw an older him in the water. Taller and with sharper eyes and slightly different clothes. He scoffed and shook his head. He picked up the nearest rock near him and tossed it into the water, shattering the image. The sun was beginning to rise, giving the water an orange hue. Link turned around and made his way toward his horse. He looked back, the light catching his eyes and he smirked. No wonder they sometimes nicknamed Lake Hylia, the Lake of Memories.
