Prologue
In a undisclosed place, a lone figure sat before a computer. The false back light was the only light, casting long shadows around the unfinished room. A wicked sneer was spread over his face. To any common on-looker, the computer only seemed to read ones and zeros. Many would realize this was computer code. Some would even realize the code was rather strange. Almost other worldly, even.
As the data continued to run over the screen in no coherent fashion, the man felt uncontrolled glee. His creation was complete. At long last, months of work was coming together before his very eyes. Now all he had to do was wait for it to finish taking form. Soon, his discovery would be unmatched by any. Soon, people would be paying him hundreds upon thousands just to know his secret. Soon...
Light flooded the room to display a house basement. It also revealed lanky man with square glasses. His greying hair was slicked back clearly unwashed. He was incredibly pale and had dark circles under his eyes. A large silhouette stood in the way of most of the light.
"Are you down there again!" A woman shrieked. Startled, the man accidentally hit his keyboard causing the screen to go blank with only a single white line in the top left corner.
"Gah!" the man shouted upon seeing the disaster that had come of his project.
"I ask you to take out the garbage and feed the cat! Maybe spend a little time with your kids! And where do I find you? On that stupid computer!"
"Honey, I'm working on the discovery of a life time!"
"Maybe you should worry more about discovering your live time! Honestly, it's like your family doesn't even matter to you anymore!"
An ominous feeling gripped the man. With a glance at the screen he knew it would take to long to fix tonight. Time for plan Beta.
"Honey, Darling..." he cooed while cautiously approaching the stairwell.
"Oh don't you 'darling' me!" And so the argument continued to ensue. The man disappeared up stairs, and the basement was returned to darkness.
It was not until sometime later that the blank screen changed on it's own. The line travelled along the screen leaving a message in it's wake.
"Hello?"
Far from the home, in the district of Odiba, a computer in the lab of the local elementary school buzzed to life. Indescribable amounts of data covered the screen. All around the school, electrical appliances were going haywire. The clocks began to spin rapidly. From within the screen, a shape began to form. The form began to emerge from the screen. Then all went dark.
