Kick in the Balls
A/N: So, I felt like writing since I had a free day, and this is what came out.
Disclaimer: Yea, trust me, if I owned CSI, Sara would never have left. And Catherine would be naked. All the time.

They always say that it hurts when your girlfriend cheats on you, but it's a kick in the balls when she cheats on you with another woman. Well, it's true.
Well, let me rewind, and perhaps clarify. Sara Sidle isn't exactly my girlfriend. But, my god, do I wish she was. I guess I just couldn't pull my head out my ass long enough to tell her. I'm pretty sure I've been in love with her since the moment we met.
It was a long day. I remember just wanting to go home, but as I finished my lecture, this beautiful brunette in an adorable ponytail came up to me and she just kept firing questions. I honestly don't remember what they were; she was mesmerizing.
I thought I'd won the lottery when she finally asked me to dinner, but the theory of a date was much better than the execution. Nice word choice there. I was ridiculously nervous. I have absolutely no social skills, and boy was that obvious. I didn't say the right things, I didn't do the right things. But somehow, even after the clumsy spilling of my drink all over her shirt, she still gave me a goodnight kiss.
Well, a goodnight peck.
On the cheek.
I flew back to Vegas completely mortified.
I remember the years that followed well. We corresponded via email. She sent a few letters to me, I stupidly only responded to one. I just don't know what to write to her. This is new. I'm not used to this feeling.
But when I needed someone to come investigate Warrick, I knew that she was the only person I'd trust with the job.
So she came.
And we were at a stalemate.
To this day, I don't know how to act around her. Every time I open my mouth, all I want to do is tell her how much I love her. But I don't. I can't. And now, I never will.
You see, I stopped by her place today. I don't know exactly why. Sara has this ability to make you do stupid things and not understand why. Perhaps that is why I went.
I lifted my hand to rap on the door, but I paused. What was I going to say? She'd ask why I was there; what I needed. I had to have something prepared.
And just as I was sifting through the possibilities, I heard a giggle.
That can't be right, Sara doesn't giggle. Who the hell is giggling in her apartment?
And then I hear a moan. Okay, who the hell is moaning in her apartment?
The next part went by in slow motion. I can repeat the whole thing in my head as if it was happening all over again, which is actually what I've been doing all day.
Just I was bringing my knuckles to the wood of her door, five words halted me.
"Jesus Christ, Catherine, don't stop."

For CSI-330, because you asked for a productive day.
