Chapter 1
"Mom! Dad!" A pinkette shouted shaking his fathers limp body that was coated in cuts, bruises, and burns. His onyx eyes latched onto every item in the dense forest, looking for something to stop blood from flowing out of the many wounds that his parents had.
"Mom! Mom wake up!" He shouted, grabbing some leaves and pressing them to the wounds on his pink haired mother.
With a sudden cough, the green eyes of Mrs. Dragneel opened. She gazed at her son with a expression of heartbreak.
"I'm sorry baby, I'm sorry that Mommy and Daddy couldn't protect you this time. We failed baby, I'm sorry." She apologized, taking her sons small hand in hers.
"You didn't fail anything! You're the bestest parents ever! Please Mommy! Don't leave!" The pinkette shouted, crystal clear tears running from his onyx eyes.
"You need to run. They could still be searching for you. Run Natsu. RUN!" His mom whispered loudly, hoping to get the message across that he could stay no longer.
Before he ran, she placed an obsidian trinket in his hand. His eyes settled on it, but not long enough to tell what it was. He kissed his mother's cheek and hugged his father one last time before running off deeper into the forest.
"I love you. . . Natsu." Were the last words that Mrs. Dragneel spoke before falling into internal slumber with her husband by her side, waiting for her with the angels.
~With Natsu~
I ran like there was no tomorrow. Leaping gracefully over fallen trees and landing with a roll. Where these sudden instincts came from? Only Mavis knows.
I tripped over a tree root that was hidden under some dead leaves and weirdly landed on rocky ground. I looked ahead of me and saw what seemed to be a cliff edge. I silently thanked the tree root because if I had kept running, I would have ran off the cliff. I was breathing heavily when I noticed what seemed to be a black and blue dragon flying towards me.
My eyes widened in surprise as it landed before me, it's piercing eyes staring into the depths of my soul. I took a deep breath and held my fists in front of my face, holding its gaze. A sudden laugh boomed from the dragons maw as it transformed into a human with wild blue hair, dark tan skin with blue markings on it, and the piercing eyes.
He walked over to me and ruffled my hair. I stood there shocked, a dragon had just transformed into a human. Was that genetically possible!?
"Hey kid, you wanna learn magic?" He said, blue flames appearing on his fingertips. My eyes widened as I reached out to them, a hypnotizing feeling anchored in my gut. He leaned on close to my face, a wild grin appearing on his masculine face.
"I'll take that as a yes."
