No Way! Not Her!

Chapter 1

Percy's POV

Grover, Annabeth and I were sitting on top of Half- Blood hill. The sky was blue with little white clouds floating in the distance. The sun was setting and a warm orange glow hovered over the valley; the smell of strawberries down in the fields filling our noses. It was so peaceful and the first time I had gotten to relax since the crazy summer I just had. Everything was perfect and I was so happy to have Annabeth (my new girlfriend) and Grover (my best friend) with me. We had been through so much together these past few years I wouldn't have made it without them (literally). I was so grateful to have made through this summer that I didn't even mind Grover's complaints to Annabeth.

"Grover, stop it…" Annabeth said calmly.

"But it's true! " Grover justified. "I think Juniper was looking at another...satyr!"

Grover was claiming that Juniper was cheating on him based on the only fact he had: Juniper standing talking to another satyr yesterday afternoon.

"Grover, that's ridiculous. Juniper would never do that, especially not after how you just became the most powerful Satyr of all time!" I said. This was true. Grover was the first and only satyr to find the god Pan and call out the loudest goat bleat that made all of nature help us attack our enemy.

"Guys!" Grover whined.

"Oh come on" Annabeth laughed standing up and brushed the grass off her jeans. Her long blond hair hung over her shoulders like a waterfall. Her hair looked so soft and clean, it made me think her lemon scented shampoo. She turned toward me a smiled, her stormy eyes glittering with happiness. I loved seeing her happy, especially when I was the one she was happy with. I felt my face get hot and looked down clearing my throat hoping I wasn't making a fool of myself just staring at her. Annabeth and I had been friends for years so it was absurd that even now I got speechless when she looked at me.

I stood up and followed her down the hill toward the pavilion; our hands laced together and Grover crying behind us.

"Okay Grover your right!" I yelled behind me, trying to wee what reaction I'd get. He only gasped and raced down the hill screaming "I knew it!"

"I think he lost his mind" I laughed.

"You shouldn't have told him that. It's not nice to mess with his feelings" Annabeth chimed. She looked at me with her eyebrow raised.

"I'll talk to Juniper to try and straighten things out" She said.

I looked down at her and smiled.

"Sorry" I said with a chuckle.

She only laughed then stood on her toes and kissed me. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach and I felt my heart racing.

"So what do you want to do today?" I asked as we walked together into camp.

"I don't know. Maybe later my cabin can challenge you to a sword fight so then I can whip your butt"

"Oh please! You know I always go easy on you"

"Oh whatever" Annabeth rolled her eyes.

"Fine then we'll fight but don't cry when you get hurt" I teased nudging her shoulder.

"Ha! Fine we'll make a bet"

"What kind of bet?"

"Hmm..." Annabeth tapped her chin, her face giving her best battle planning look.

"Loser has to do anything that the winner tells them" she finally proposed.

"Fine, you're on" I agreed.

She leaned in as if to kiss me again; our lips brushing against each other. I tilted my chin down closing my eyes when she pulled away before I could taste her again. Smirking she skipped a few paces ahead of me letting go of my hand. I chased after her wrapping my arms around her waist.

We walked in the pavilion together just as breakfast was about to start. I let Annabeth walk over to her cabin mates and I turned to sit at my own table. As I walked over I heard a few people mutter "Did you see the new girl?"

After the final battle this summer I made the gods promise to claim all of their demigod children. We haven't had any new campers get claimed yet but I knew Chiron was going to set a plan for the satyrs to help find new demigods and bring them to camp. Apparently we had our first demigod found after the battle which was big news for the campers. I looked around to see any new faces as I took my seat at my table but everything seemed normal with Chiron, Mr.D, the satyrs, and Rachel Dare sitting at the head table.

Chiron stood up in front of the camp ready to make his announcements for the day.

"Welcome back campers! I know it's been a long summer but let try to enjoy the rest of it as much as we can. As everyone may know we will be getting many new campers joining our camp and many other demigod children becoming claimed. With this being said I'd like to introduce you to our newest member at camp who has not yet been claimed." Chiron took a step to the side.

A girl who I thought to be Rachel wasn't Rachel at all. She shared the same frizzy red hair and freckles around her face and looked about the same age as Rachel too but her facial features were a little sharper than usual almost like the kids from the Hermes cabin. Her brown eyes were misty and red like she just had been crying.

I gasped. That couldn't be her. I felt the blood rush to my face, my heart racing, my mind was going a million miles a minute trying to figure out what I was seeing. The girl in front of me couldn't be a half blood, there was no way because I knew this girl. My blood boiled as I starred in shook at the school bully from my past. I darted a look at Grover whose face turned pale and looked like he wanted to faint. I couldn't blame him I felt the same way. I shook my head trying to calm down.

"No way, not her" I muttered to myself.

"Everyone say hello to Nancy Bobofits, our newest half-blood" Chiron announced.
