AN: Alrighty then. I was listening to music, my new hated hobby, and I had a brilliant sad story idea. Cause only I can be in an awesome mood and come up with something like this. *sighs* Yes yes, and to those of you who don't know me, Welcome! Glad to see you'll let me corrupt you! *grins innocently* So sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything you recognize!

The first time he saw them was in a book when he was six. He didn't understand at the time.

"Uncle Harry?" He waited to get Harry's full attention before he continued on. "Why did mummy and daddy leave me?" Harry bent down to look Teddy straight in the eye.

"They didn't want to leave, Teddy. Your mummy and daddy tried hard to stay with you." Harry used the pads of his thumbs to wipe the tears off of little Teddy Lupin's round face. "You have to remember that they loved you and will always love you."

"I miss them Uncle Harry." Harry nodded with a small smile.

"I know, Teddy. I do too. Come on, I'll tell you about your parents." Harry picked Teddy up and plopped him on the couch and sat next to him, holding the photo album between them. "Your mum and dad were so in love…"

Teddy's little eyes were trained on the picture of Remus and Dora holding each other and laughing.

The second time he saw them was on the Hogwarts Express. He was nervous about his first day and Harry had given him the picture.

"Don't worry about it, Teddy. Your parents were great people and are proud of you. I know they are looking down and smiling right now." Teddy looked hopeful, his brown hair turning the turquoise he usually wore.

"Really?" Harry nodded and ruffled Teddy's hair.

"Of course. Here," Harry handed him the photo of his parents holding each other and laughing. "When you get homesick, just look at it and remember them." With that Andromeda and Harry ushered him on the train. "We're just an owl away, Teddy."

"Thanks Uncle Harry." Harry nodded and Andromeda cried as the train lurched forward. He waved at them before staring at the picture.

"Hi! Is this seat taken?" Teddy smiled at the boy standing in front of head.

"No, go ahead."

"Thanks. Name's Mace Wood."

"Teddy. Teddy Lupin." Teddy tucked the photo into his pants pocket. He would always have his parents with him, even if it wasn't in person.

The third time he really looked at the photo was the day his daughter was born. He led her tight against his chest as his wife slept and pulled the photo out.

"They wanted to be here Abby. They wanted to be here for all of it, but they died as heroes to give you and I a better life. Don't worry though. I'll make sure you know all about your grandmum and granddad Lupin. They would absolutely adore you." He showed the infant the photograph of Remus and Dora holding each other and laughing.

"Your grandparents were so in love…"

AN: Well it was rather short. Sorry about that, but I hoped you all liked it. It totally came to me while I was listening to Nickelback. *sighs* I really hate my brain sometimes. But I did enjoy how this turned out. Let me know what you thought please!
