Disclaimer: Legend of Zelda, that wonderful, timeless jewel of a videogame/ legend in its own right, is owned by the gods of gaming (Nintendo) and favourite man in the whole universe, Shigeru Miyamoto aka God, Shigsy and the world's greatest genius. How did you guess that I've just bought the Wind Waker?

Fairy's Wait

I have waited.

Even when darkness spilt its fingers across the land.

Even when water followed in its wake.

I have waited.

I am the part of the legend everyone cares to forget.

When there are Sages and villains who needs me?

Though he didn't forget me, everyone else did.

When you're so irrelevant, who needs thee?

I cried real tears when he died.

I cried real tears when Hyrule fell.

And yet, though I grew through the decades,

The waiting for me has been Hell.

Yet still I wait.

Though my children grew and prospered,

Though the people have risen again,

I still wait.

I will feel the courage of a young heart like his,

I will sense his blood in his veins,

I will know that he is the one.

For me, this hope still remains.

The Hero will rise from the waves,

He will come to my fountain and pray.

When I, the Fairy Queen, lend my power,

Then Navi will again save the day.

Weird I know, but with my Wind Waker withdrawl (sniff!) I really felt like doing something Wind Waker related, and whilst looking around on the Internet for character art of Zelda (yes Zelda, not Tetra) I stumbled across the piccy of the Fairy Queen. Now, I haven't got that far yet in the game (I got it last Saturday, went home on Sunday, played it solidly and won't get to play it again til next Saturday. ARGH!)  and I looked at the cute little blue fairy and proceeded to go 'aww' before printing out her, Zelda and Ganon (c'mon, had to be done.) So anyway, whilst looking at the pictures and attempting to draw them, I made one tiny little link to the Fairy Queen and the blue fiend and I thought 'Ah!'

But seriously people, don't you think that it's a little coincidental that Navi and the most powerful fairy in the game happen to be blue? And also, if the Kokiri never grow up, then surely their fairies stay childlike forever too. And in that case, is it not possible that Navi stayed childlike? That would explain why the fairy queen looks like a little girl. And also, if Navi had been in contact so intensely with the Triforce of Courage, wouldn't an itty bitty bit of it have rubbed off on her?

I don't know, maybe I'm just being a little bit ker-azy here (wouldn't be the first time!) but it thought that it was always a possibility, and we never know what became of everyone's favourite advanced warning system/ pain in the butt. (She might have been bad, but c'mon, wasn't Tatl -or even Ruto- worse?) Anyway, I suppose my suspicions will be roused further or severely quashed once I meet the elusive fairy Queen (I'm kinda still trapped in the Dragon Shrine at the moment... I only had six hours at home, during which time I had to walk the dogs and eat a very large roast lunch! And I needed to try out the Master Quest!) I'd love to know if anyone else has similar thoughts...

Ah well, Endeffera or Vagabond updates this weekend, if I can peel myself away from my books…
