Here's my first chapter of Tessellate! Hope you guys like it! Sorry for the grammatical errors, I don't have an editor.
He flopped down on his bed his unruly curls strewn about. He heard the faint beeping of his cell phone from across his small but quaint studio apartment. He let out a small grunt of annoyance and crossed the room, unlocking his phone he read a text that read "R get your ass to the Musain NOW!" He drug himself out the door grabbing a hoodie and his wallet on the way out. He shuffled down the bustling streets of New York City and while not drawing attention to himself he slipped down an alleyway and made his way to the secluded Café Musain. The Musain was where he and all of his friends from college met to plan their community outreach programs.
He walked down an alleyway to get to the small café and when he flung open the door he saw the familiar faces of his friends. Enjolras the leader of their group who was a Poly Sci major, Combeferre a Philosophy major, Jehan a English major, Joly a Dental major, Courfreyrac a Musical Theater major, Marius who after tons of persuasion from Cosette chose the same major as her which was Education, Eponine and Grantaire were both majoring in Visual Arts and Feuilly and Bossuet had no idea what they were majoring in yet.
"You're late again Grantaire" said Enjolras flatly as he rolled his eyes, "I know, I had a rough night" "Grantaire, drinking all night until you're drunk off your ass and working on paintings does not count as rough" "I had the dream again last night" and with that the room went silent. "Grantaire, you can come stay with me if you're afraid of being alone" offered Eponine "No thanks 'Ponine, I'll move past it like I do every year" Eponine and Grantaire had been friends since second grade; you'd think they were twins at first glance. Grantaire's parents died when he was in the 9th grade due to a horrible car crash, leaving him orphaned. Eponine's parents offered Grantaire a place to stay and he moved in immediately after the crash happened. They'd been inseparable ever since.
