I can't see the sky
Under the safety of these old trees
And I ask- Who am I?
My breath carried away by the breeze.
I lived in this small town
My mind recalls nothing more
I can't let anyone down
But I have the need to explore.
I chose to go with you
Because I was so lost
I want to find what's true
To melt this burning frost.
Now I realize
As I watch the screen
Those soft caring eyes
The sacrifice unseen.
I feel weak at the sight
When I see that lovely face
But I must do what's right
So in the end,
There'll be someone to embrace.
I carry on my spite
But there's no reason to defy
The villains we all fight
If I can't see the sky.
Under the safety of these old trees
And I ask- Who am I?
My breath carried away by the breeze.
I lived in this small town
My mind recalls nothing more
I can't let anyone down
But I have the need to explore.
I chose to go with you
Because I was so lost
I want to find what's true
To melt this burning frost.
Now I realize
As I watch the screen
Those soft caring eyes
The sacrifice unseen.
I feel weak at the sight
When I see that lovely face
But I must do what's right
So in the end,
There'll be someone to embrace.
I carry on my spite
But there's no reason to defy
The villains we all fight
If I can't see the sky.
