Hello everyone! This is Blaze808 with yet another one shot. This one is for Hunter X Hunter. If you get stuck making a literary device examining piece, feel free to use this, because this piece will be loaded. This is slightly KuraSen/KurapikaXMelody, but really, it isn't that strong.

I don't own Hunter X Hunter. If you assumed I did, you tried.

His Melody

She had heard so many pieces. There were songs of joy, songs of pain. However, there was a melody she could never fully begin to understand. It was the darkest symphony that she had ever heard. It happened to belong to the darkest person she had ever met. Even though his face never betrayed his emotions, the song in his heart spelled it out note by note. Often, it was soft as a whisper, and notes crossed the page of his heart like a slow wave, rolling softly. She could hear the sorrowful moan of the violin as it stretched across the cables, only to return the way it came. Senritsu would often watch the bearer of the piece, looking for any flaws in the artistry-a chance for her to assist, to give the song a joyful phrase. Unfortunately, he was as guarded as the song continued in its mellow, but painful way.

However, when his temper rose, oh how the rhythm changed! A deep drum seemed to resonate through the very earth. It was if an execution was about to take place, as it would play during the criminals final breaths, in the steadiness and the power of each beat. The violin would speed unnaturally, all timed by his quickened breath. The very song announced the presence of an army. This seemed to fit. His temper was known to create such an uncontainable monster, that those who encountered it must run for their lives, praying it doesn't seek for their lives. Senritsu would shiver at the tone. How it froze her very soul! Such hatred! Such raw power!

If there was anything wrong with his song, it was the duration. How awful it must be to be such away. She couldn't imagine it. To be enslaved by hatred and destroyed by such a deep sorrow. The thought burned her very core. Maybe it wouldn't have bothered her so much, except she knew that this was no ordinary melody. This was the very song of his heart. She was the only who knew. Senritsu knew that the others-Leorio and the two children-had some indication, but she knew that he would never let them see his true anguish. The anguish his heart cried out from in its every beat. She only wished to help him.

Many times, she tried to change this song. She would play a soothing song of comfort. Sometimes, she would tell him that she meant it as a way to sooth him. Others (and most times), Senritsu would play her songs crossing her fingers that he would listen. It had only worked once, and even then, all she had managed to contain the monster for a critical moment. However, she knew the effect didn't last, because when he came back to the base of operations, she could see the blood on his hands. Ever since then, it had become her goal to have his heart play a melody other than pain and anger.

She knew in her very own heart, that despite what the melody meant, it was the most captivating thing she had ever heard.
