If you ever saw me passing through the school halls you would probably receive an image of a sweet shy and mysterious girl also a loser that probably didn't have any actual friends. You would be probably right on the last part, but not because I was any kind of loser it's just that people didn't accept the things that made me different from the rest of the society.
Yet there was this one person that saw shining light in these dead eyes of mine and so he offered me a helping hand when I needed it the most. That person was also the cause I could stroll through these school halls as one of the students in the Fairy Tail Academy. Reason to it was because it only meant for rich people, someone with so low income in the family wouldn't be able to get here with their own strength alone if they weren't a genius.
Back in those days when I joined the school everything seemed so magical. People treated everyone with respect and usually you felt like this place was your second home. Yet this peace didn't last for long as soon the chairman felt sick. Macarov was moved to the hospital and since his disappearance Laxus, his grandson was the one in charge.
Because I felt like I was in debt to the chairman for helping me out before I constantly gave him visits which his own grandson neglected. There I gave him a promise that whenever Laxus Dreyar would go overboard I would be there to stop him.
Yet the reality seemed so different from what I have imagined, even if I was confident in my strength he managed to make a group which contained 2 of his best friends and basically the hottest guys around the school which were Bixlow Souleater, Freed Justine, Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Gajeel Redfox, Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney. It didn't seem wise to go against 8 muscular guys at that moment.
Then the situation got only worse from that point on. When the chairman fell in coma Laxus only risen in power while taking over the whole school altogether. No matter how much I wished to stop him I knew with only guts this may seem as mission impossible.
When the situation in school was only worsening I got to see from sidelines how people got bullied or beaten up. This become so serious for Laxus, it seemed he even created a system, just so other students would know his victim and join the hunt. The item he gave his prays was a red card with a text saying "Thunder Tribe" because that's what they called themselves.
And so once the summer vacation was at the door step I went the extra mile and prepared myself for the worst to stop all this. First I found a master that would train me under his wings and once the training hit the roof every single day was survival. After such experience I was exhausted so I didn't make my move just yet until I saw the nicest girl in school opening her locker and what fell from it left me in shock. A red card was laying on the floor and in no time masses was gathered around the blonde female surrounding her with grins spreading on their mouths. As always someone had to have some kind of weapon ready for the bulling part, too bad for him Erza Scarlet was witnessing this and so she sprinted to him grabbing his hand once she reached him she had his hand in a deadly grip that could possibly break his arm. Looking at the redhaired female that send him the scariest glares scared him and so he ran away looking like he would piss in his pants at any moment now.
"What happened Lucy why are in middle of this mess?" a small bluehairded female asked. I recognized her as Lucy's best pal that goes by name Levy. That made Lucy stumble out her words quite nervously.
"I managed to spill my drink on him by accident." Just hearing this made my blood boil inside of me, yet I tried to calm down while fixing my glasses making them sit on the nose. Taking deep breath in I continued to listen to the group of friends that didn't cared about the fact that she got the red card.
I knew that these females wouldn't sink that low and this was exactly the moment I would place everything back how it was before. Yet this would be only the start and a small step towards a better future.
"If any of you dare to hurt Lucy then I.." then I heard a familiar voice that interrupted the glorious woman in her act.
"You do what exactly?" looking in the distance I saw Laxus making his way with his group of followers. Soon the halls were filled with overreacting fangirls because despite their cruelty they apparently seemed handsome. I myself just found them so long as good punching bags for sure.
Looking back at Erza I could see the shock in her eyes, she held herself back and I exactly understood why. Even if she had the strength to strike back at the egoistic filled group she knew inside that Laxus could just throw her out the school within seconds. I soon understood that nothing could have been done from their part, but I could interfere and declare a war with this buffy male myself.
Sighting I started to push my way through the crowd which left other students looking at me with questioning eyes. Soon I managed to make my way through and once I captured most people's attention I took the red card from Lucy's soft trembling hands and I tore it apart and it followed by me throwing it at the Thunder Tribe themselves.
First pure shock appeared on their faces because since Laxus started to be stricter with people no one dared to pull anything like this if they weren't a new student in school. Then glares were sent at me but they got a blank stare back from my side. I saw how they were about to say prepars yell something, yet I managed to open my mouth first.
"Listen to me punks. If you hurt any of these females and their friends I personally visit you at night, chop off your heads and have them as decoration in my house. I am clear enough?" before any answer could arrive from their side I heard Cana's voice.
"Gurl you didn't train with my father to treat people. You can just beat them up right now." She claimed as I just shook her head.
"Please Cana I didn't train with your father to beat people either…." Sighting I glanced at her just to see her walk over to me as other people made a clear path for her. Sure they seemed to be quite interested in this situation.
"No but you trained to take the school back from the buffy asshole, I say the best solution would be just beating him up and that be it." I looked straight at her with quite so disappointed look.
"Cana nothing is so simple as you want it to be, sorry to break it for you." She just nodded taking a sip from her bottle as she continued.
"Sure sure, I mean you may just enjoy taking it slow so you can torture them mentally I guess. If that's your hobby you can do that." Then of course Thunder Tribe had to disagree on that point.
"Like hell such weakling could beat us." Laxus stated while he crossed his arm looking quite so angry as Cana just seemed wanted to add more wood to the fire.
"Please she defeated bears in woods, have you?" now it was my turn to be confused.
"What are you talking about? That never happened." And of course she must have explained to me when and how I defeated a bear.
"Remember that day you had huge PMS and this guy broke up with me, you were so furious that you started to chase him while tearing down everything that was in your part, sure one of these things was a bear." Looking back it these memories seemed fuzzy somehow and on other side I knew best how different kind of person I become under PMS, especially when someone messes with me or makes me angry.
"Don't make up any childish stories that never happened." Laxus said probably not believing any words she just said.
"Well I don't remember any of this." I added quite unsure what happened just that day, which seemed to be not the best answer I could have chosen from.
"How dare you Joanna." Cana said which made me look back at her.
"Don't say you forget our promise." Thinking back I suddenly remembered that the reason her boyfriend ran away was indeed because of me and the following day I promised to find her a boyfriend. From my view of point I barely saw it as necessary, because she was capable to find a boyfriend herself seeing how much contacts she had. Meanwhile I had barely any friends beside her and Loki. Desperately looking at the guys I took Gray by his shoulder and said nervously.
"How about him?" this made her glare at me and I fast backed away staring at her apple juice which seemed quite suspicious to me. She didn't seem to like apple juice in first place and she often came with tea or coffee. Snatching it from her hands I smelled it and instantly I knew it was beer. I looked at her smirking as she gulped. So she let the whole boyfriend deal slide because she knew I would report it to her father that she was drinking in school. Having that from my shoulder made me sight relieved and soon Erza came back to reality.
"Wait isn't your father Gildarts Clive?" Cana just nodded her head not wanting to talk about it.
"Why so shocked tho?" she questioned the redhaired girl behavior.
"It's just that he always refuses to take in students.. which means if your friend really trained with him she must have been his first student." I nodded as it was quite hard for him to accept me.
"It took me a week indeed but I managed." I answered and those that heard about Gildarts jawdropped as he was considered the strongest man in Fiore. Yet this was quite more complicated that it seemed, through the whole week I had to follow him like a lost puppy trying to reason why I wanted to be trained by him. And when I finally got accepted I got to know Cana when she was visiting him. Soon I got rather not expect reaction from Natsus side. He seemed so happy when he heard this and so he shouted.
"You got to train with Gildarts?" once I nodded he added "Cool." But I had to agree with him on this part it was quite amazing that I got accepted and later that I actually survived this summer.
Afterwards when Laxus glanced at Natsu he became quiet and so we heard Laxus speak.
"Even if you were trained by him it doesn't prove anything." It seemed like he wanted to have this conversation going but Freed spoke soon after.
"Laxus it seems like we must take our leave now." And so they left making me relax now as the whole start was for now over. When they no longer were in sight the other students took their leave which left us with Lucy and her friends. They sure multiplied now as the rumors probably spreed that Lucy got a red card. Now other students like Mira and Lisanna were by her side as well.
"So you were trained by Gildarts?" Lucy asked as her voice gave me a hint that she probably didn't believed me just yet.
"Yes I would more likely call it survive camping than training." I didn't want to start on the details and all. Then I got an idea.
"If you want you can always follow me next time as friends or something." That said made Mira smile at me.
"It's always nice to make new friends. Like you know Cana so it's a plus." Soon she put me into a warm hug which made me freeze in place. I could just see a thumb up from my best friends' side, she seemed to strongly approve that I got new friends in this yet so crazy school situation.
