The four boys sat on the couch in the Lupins' households living room, the TV stood buzzing and all eyes were glued to it.

It was the summer right before 3rd year and the boys tried to capture the last days before school start.

Since Mrs. Lupin was a Muggleborn she wanted Remus to grow up with some of her culture, so they lived a lot like Muggles, hence the TV. They all watched an old episode of what had come to become all fours favourite show since Remus introduced it, 2 and ½ men (AN okay so I know it didn't exist back then, but hey, this is fiction!)

"Love isn't blind…it's retard" Charlie's voice came out of the TV, and they watched him sink back into his sun chair.

"So true," Peter agreed.

"Well that certainly explains a lot", said Sirius and flashed a wicked grin at his partner in crime, Remus. Long had the Marauders minus James, suspected that James' infatuation for Lily was something more than just a simple infatuation. Nevertheless they could never get him to confess anything. That didn't mean they didn't try, though. They took every chance they got, implying little things here and there. It never got them anywhere. Heck, to be honest they weren't even sure James' knew his real feelings towards Evans.

"Why yes it does, Padfoot" The prefect had that marauder- ish glint in his eyes he got oh so often and his grin was all but identical as that of Padfoot's and they both turned against James after sharing a look. The oh so marauder-ish glint shined brighter than a thousand suns.

"Wha…Whoa. Wait! I-i-I… I don't… You don't think? Me? Likes Evans?" James spurted out and raised his hands in defence. "Hey, she's hot and all…smart too, funny and feisty. Witty, always has a comeback when we argue, and the way her hair clashes against her cheeks when she gets upset or blushes… Oh, and she does that little thing when she smiles, it's like…"

James trailed off with a horrified expression painting his face.

Remus, Peter and Sirius all shared a knowing look before turning it into a look of pity as they turned to the horrified James.

"Oh. My. God! What have I done? I've fallen in love with Evans!" He cried out in a tone that more suggested that he'd just killed his best friend by mistake. Exasperated he fell onto his bed, cursing beneath his breath.

"Of all the girls on the planet it just had to be her, didn't it? Merlin's pants!" He groaned and put his head down his hands.

"This is going to be one hell of a school year", he stated, his voice coming out muffled since he spoke directly into his palms.

Little did out poor James know that it would not be one, not two, but four school years from hell.

A/N WOHO! My second fanfic is up! ;) I'm so proud of myself. Question for you wonderful, probably also lost since you're reading MY fanfic, guys out there ; do you feel that this is enough as a one-shot or do you want me to continue this, because I have sort of an idea for more chapters but I'm not sure.

Also, tell me if you thought it sucked, and you may also tell me if it didn't :P

Lotsa love, L!
