Hardcastle sighed, stepping between the other two. "Hold it," he put up a warning hand to Biff. "Ali dumped you, McCormick's dumped Ali. Let's start acting like grownups and settle this over a beer."
"He . . . dumped Ali?" Biff was stunned. "Why?"
Mark put a friendly arm around Biff's shoulders, "Man to man, things between Ali and me just weren't going to work out." He maneuvered Biff around and pushed him toward the parking lot. "We're from different worlds. Different planets, actually. Let's go have that beer and swap war stories."
"This ought to be good," thought Hardcastle, grinning, and followed.
