Truth and Lies

I can feel something's wrong.
He's not the same.
His smile is plastic.
His joy is artificially sweetened.
I want to make it go away.
I want to make him stay,
Even if it's just for a little while.
His lips may smile,
But his eyes give him away.
His bunny at his side,
No longer says hello.
They just walk by,
They don't even look at me, they just go.
His lips may smile,
But his eyes give him away.
I can hear him cry, when he thinks he's alone.
Asking his bunny why.
His secret confessions to the plush toy, I hear.
My consicence whispers in my ear.
His lips may smile,
His eyes may give him away.
But his heart won't lie,
And neither will mine.
His tears turn to shock as I make myself known,
clearing my throat and closing the door behind me.
He tells me to leave,
To leave them alone.
He tells me he hates me.
His lips may lie,
His eyes give him away.
My heart can't play
This pointless game.
I touch his cheek,
And dry his tears.
I touch his lips
And tell him all of my fears.
Heights,
Planes,
Small places,
Him.
His lips part,
And his eyes give him away.
I lower my head
And taste those sweet lips.
That sweet mouth.
His lips caress mine,
His eyes fluttering closed,
His heart calls to me.
And I follow.
My sweet Ryuichi.
My one and only.
His lips now smile,
Sheepish, with his boyish charm.
It makes my head spin.
His eyes, light up and tears rise.
And there is nothing but truth.
