A/N: So this is my very first Eureka fic. I really hope that I did okay and that you all like it. Please let me know what you think. I am also working on a multi-chapter fic for this fandom. So, look out for that. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Eureka or its Characters.
When it happened I didn't even notice. The change seemed to progress so slowly, so minutely that at first I didn't even recognize what was happening. At one point we had been enemies; rivals fighting for the same prize. I can't recall what made things change, but something had definitely spurred on this physical and emotional reaction. Whatever took place, it was perplexing and no amount of science could help me explain it.
"Nathan?" asked the one person that I had grown dependent on. It was that voice that I woke up to every morning. That voice that I couldn't dream of going a day without hearing.
"Yes," was my simple reply as I pulled myself up from my abyss of endless thoughts.
"Are you okay? What's on your mind?"
"Who said that something was on my mind?"
"Nathan you had on your 'I'm thinking don't disturb me' face." I smiled at that person that sat across from me in Café Diem.
"I was just thinking about how we got here. Just trying so hard to figure out when things changed and what I did to deserve you."
"Well, does it matter how we got here? To me all that really matters is that we did get here. As for that last statement, I wonder the same thing every day Dr. Stark." He laughed to show that he was joking and I instantly grinned.
"You're right. Hey guess what?"
"What?"
"I love you Jack." His blue eyes seemed to sparkle like they always did whenever I spoke those words. It was the one look that I would never forget and always cherish.
"I love you t-" He was interrupted by my phone ringing. I quickly answered, not exactly pleased with the evening call.
"What Fargo?"
"Dr. Stark we have a problem. The photon blaster that hasn't been tested yet has been hi-jacked by MARTHA. We need you at GD like right now Sir."
"Fine." I hung up quickly and turned to Jack with what I knew he called my 'Sorry but I have to cut this short for work' face.
"Go. I will see you at home."
"I'll make this up to you I promise."
"I know. Now get before things get worst and they call me."
I couldn't help but laugh at my partner as I got up to leave. As soon as I reached the door, I turned to double back. I placed a quick kiss to Jack's lips and then spoke.
"I love you."
"Go," was his whispered response.
Jack's right. It doesn't matter when or how. I'm just glad that it did.
A/N: Well there you have it. Don't forget to review, review, review! Until Next Time...See Ya :D
