Written for alexi serenitia on the request a drabble post in my journal.

I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh.

Rebecca couldn't remember too much of what happened. She remembered bright lights, squealing tires, and the smell of burning rubber. That was about it though. She didn't know what she had been doing or what had happened.

Needless to say, she was rather surprised to find herself in a blindingly white plane of existence.

She looked around, to see hundreds of thousands of boring looking people. One person stood out though. He looked rather angry, and his hair was ... well, it was green.

"Excuse me," she said, walking up to him. "Could you tell me where I am?"

He looked at her like she was one of the stupidest creatures on Earth. "You're in Limbo," he said.

"Limbo? You mean, El Limbo? In the Caribbean?" Rebecca asked, suddenly wondering how she got all the way there.

He rolled his eyes. "Um... you're dead," he said bluntly, it was something that you'd hear casually mentioned on the streets.

"I'm dead? What do you mean I'm dead? How did I die?" Rebecca asked, wondering why she had to talk to the most annoying person in 'Limbo'.

"How am I suppose to know how you died? I'm not in charge here," he snapped.

"Whatever," she groaned, then turned away from him. "I'm going to go ask someone else where I am. Maybe they'll tell me the truth."

He grabbed her wrist. "Don't bother. They'll probably ignore you. No one ever talks here."

She pulled away from him, and stalked into the crowd.

---

"Hello? Answer me!" Rebecca snapped at the kid who she'd been trying to get a response out of for the past five minutes. They turned away from her and walked back into the mass of people.

Rebecca finally gave up. She slumped down and sat, feeling like she wanted to cry, but she refused to do so in public.

"I told you," she heard a familiar voice say behind her.

She turned and glared at him, and stood up quickly. "This is all your fault!" she cried, and her voice caught. "I'm not dead! I'm going to meet Yugi and his friends tomorrow! I can't be dead," and she broke down crying.

He shifted uncomfortably, not knowing what to do and paying no attention to the name 'Yugi' (There were tons of Yugi's, probably! What were the chances that they knew the same one?). Finally he settled for hugging her.

"Who are you?" she asked quietly, her voice still quivering.

"My name's Noa. Since we seem to be some of the only lively ones around here, we might as well stick together. What's your name?"

She didn't answer for a while, and finally she dried her tears. "My names Rebecca. I guess we have a lot of time to spare, huh?"

He laughed.
