"So you and Clare are serious?" I ask trying to act blasé. I lean forward on the table, resting my elbow on the smooth wood and then nestling my chin in the palm of my hand.
"Well yeah." He responds, copying my posture. The sexy smirk creeps across his full lips.
"How about you and Adam, you guys seem pretty cozy. You'll be good for him, since what happened with Fiona." I shrug my shoulders. "He seems like a good guy but I've been trying to keep my options open just in case someone else I'm interested in decides to give me the time of day."
"You like someone?" He asks, but he doesn't seem eager enough. I guess my crush on him was a little obvious. "Well, yeah." I respond, biting on my bottom lip.
"But you say they don't give you the time of day?" He asks, raising one of his brows, the smirk on his face growing. I laugh slightly and close my eyes.
"Well he knows I exist, there are just some…complications." He nods slowly. "Sure, sure." He leans back in his chair and put his arms behind his head.
"So this guy, tell me about him." Is he serious? Does he really want me to talk to him about him? I shrug my shoulders again.
"Eh, he's nothing special."
Eli laughs. "Then I don't understand why you like him."
I shake my head and smile. "You seriously want me to go into detail." Eli nods. "Details please."
"Well he's nice." I can't look at him while I talk, so I stare down at my fingers.
"That's very generic, anyone could be nice." He muses at my side.
"He's caring.." I continue on, I've started picking at the nail polish on my pinkie.
"So is Adam." Eli chimes in, I can see him leaning forward again from the corner of my eye.
"He has an amazing sense of humor." I force myself to look at him, and make note of the genuine smile on his face. He's obviously flattered by all the compliments.
"Adam can tell knock-knock jokes with the best of them." He responds, still holding my gaze.
"His sarcasm drives me wild." I shoot back, I'm gaining confidence now. It obvious that we both know who I'm talking about by now, my responses are now more specific and flirtatious.
"It does?" he raises his eyebrow in mock surprise.
"Yes, and he drives a hearse, there is nothing better then driving a hearse."
He chuckles. "I have to agree, but enough about his personality, what is that you like about him…physically?"
I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks. "Well his hair.." I start, but his eagerness gets the best of him, he cuts me off.
"Yeah?" I shrug before finishing my thought.
"It's this lovely dark brown color, and his eyes the darkest green I've ever seen."
He nods and put his finger to his cheek as if pondering something I've said. "Hmm.." I smirk and continue speaking, "And his hands…" He's leaning even further forward then before, "What about his hands?" I giggle at my thought before I whisper it to him.
"I wish I could kiss every one of his fingers." His body snaps back into his seat so fast my eyes flutter in order to focus on him again.
"Wow." He murmurs softly. "Yeah." I agree, looking down at my hands again.
"Sounds like you're a little obsessed." He points out, I can hear the amusement in his voice.
"Maybe." I confess, looking up at him from under my long dark lashes.
"It's to bad, about those complications I mean." He genuinely sounds disappointed and that makes me smile, I shrug my shoulders. "It is."
