So this was inspired by the Lonestar song Mr. Mom. It's a modern day one-shot of Blink and Laura. For some reason I just saw this song describing their life perfectly. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

"Breakfast at 6, done. Shopping list that's 7 pages long, check. Car keys are…not here. Where are they?" Blink muttered to himself as he walked around the kitchen. Temporarily out of work because of a recent eye injury, Blink had become Mr. Mom while his wife Laura worked. He had no idea how Laura got through every day taking care of three hyperactive children plus a toddler just out of diapers while still managing to get everything done. Apparently she was Super Mom or something.

"Daddy, I'm hungry." Blink's oldest boy Jeremiah wandered into the kitchen dressed in an oversized shirt and little boy boxers. He climbed pulled himself onto a stool and reached for a half-empty glass of orange juice Blink had forgotten to put away.

"Daddy!" bellowed Katie, Jeremiah's twin. "Daddy, Beth pinched me!"

"Did not! 'Sides, you pulled my hair first." Beth stormed into the kitchen, Katie stomping along right behind her.

"Jeremiah, put that glass away and put some pants on," Blink told his son, picking up the car keys from underneath the sink. Jeremiah opened his mouth to argue. "Pants are non-negotiable or you don't leave this house for hockey. Beth, no pinching or you miss the piano recital. Katie, no pulling hair or you miss ballet or violin. Where's your brother?"

"Putting his pants on," Katie promptly replied through a mouthful of jellybeans and Corn Flakes.

"Your other brother," Blink responded, pulling the bowl out of her hands and set it out of her reach. "Benjamin. Where is he?"

"Trying to throw the cat down the stairs," Beth piped up, standing on her tiptoes to reach the bowl her sister had just been eating out of. Blink raced to the top of the stairs to rescue the poor cat, wondering how on earth Laura made it through a day without murdering somebody.

"I didn't know kids had so much energy," Blink moaned as he fell in bed that night. "I swear a monster comes to visit them each night and puts in some kind of enchanted battery pack that never runs out."

Laura laughed. She propped herself up on one elbow and rested her other arm on her husband's waist. "Well, you sure tired them out today. What did you do with them?"

"I'm too tired to remember," Blink mumbled, pulling the blankets over his head. "Something to do with blanket forts? There might have been a game involving the kitchen."

Blink had spent an hour after lunchtime making the kids help him clean up the kitchen. The table had been a mess of leftover lunch (tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches; spilt all over the table, of course), dried Corn Flakes (from breakfast), spilled yogurt (also from breakfast), and an assortment of dishes from the day. In order to get it clean enough to eat off of later, Blink had promised to build a blanket fort for the kids to nap in. He had also turned it into a kind of obstacle course; the kids had gone wild for it and the kitchen had been cleaned in record time. After the fort had been built, they had fallen asleep inside; Blink had to extract himself from the mess of pillows and kids inside before being able to start supper.

"Hmmm, maybe I should try that sometime," Laura mused. "In any case, I think they had a great day with Mr. Mom."

"Hmmm." At this point, Blink was too tired to say anything coherent. "Yeah, that's me. Mr. Mom."

"Well, I had a great day at work…" Laura kept talking, telling him about her day at work. Blink was content to just listen. After about two minutes, Laura realized Blink was almost cocked out. "Are you still with me?"

"No." Blink smiled to himself as Laura laughed. Just before he drifted off completely, he murmured "Honey, you're my hero."
