Light was getting ready for school and he had the radio playing. He didn't usually have it on but it wasn't that bad.
"Alrighty!" The announcer said, "This is a request for one of our many fans!"
The song began to play and Light just listened to it as it played.
~The secret side of me, I never let you see, I keep it caged, but I can't control it.~
Light looked at the radio, this wasn't the kind of music he was into but it didn't sound all that bad.
~So stay away from me, the beast is ugly, I feel the rage, and I just can't hold it~
He turned back to the mirror and almost jumped. His reflection was different; the eyes of his reflection shone a bright red. Light blinked his eyes to see if his mind was playing tricks on him, but it didn't change.
"What's the matter Light?" The reflection asked. "Scared of your own reflection are we?" It asked with a smirk
"I must be dreaming." Light said. "There is no way this can't happening."
"Oh but it is Light, and it's not a dream." The reflection told him.
"Who are you?" Light asked
"Who? I'm you." The reflection said
"You can't be me because I'm me." Light said pointing to himself. To his surprise the reflection didn't copy
"I am apart of you Light. I am the part of you that wants to come out but you don't let me." The reflections voice was low and dark.
~It's scratching on the walls, in the closet, in the halls, It comes awake, and I can't control it~
"No. You can't be. I-I-I'm not evil!" Light said. The reflection just laughed.
"Everyone has evil inside them Light. You just choose to ignore me." Lights eyes widened slightly as his reflection said that.
~I feel it deep within, It's just beneath the skin, I must confess that I feel like a monster~
"You're a monster Light," The reflection said. It's voice low and dark. "Not everyone gets a chance to speak to their evil side. I guess I'm just that strong." It said with a smirk.
~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun, I must confess that I feel like a monster, I feel like a monster~
"But I'm not evil!" Light yelled. He was scared. There was a chance that there is a dark side to him. A side he keeps caged up and hidden.
"This coming for the boy talking to his own reflection." The reflection said with an evil smirk. "Face it Light. You're evil. And someday you will let me out."
"No." Light said. "I'm not evil. And even if there is a part of me that is evil, there is no way I am letting you out."
~Cause if I let him out, He'll tear me up, and break me down~
"It's not up to you Light." The reflection told him, now sounding angry. "I will get out of this cage. And when I do there will be no stopping me."
"I'm not evil." Light said again.
"No." The reflection said. "But I am. I am the monster inside of you Light. There is no stopping me."
~It's hiding in the dark, its teeth are razor sharp, There's no escape for me, It wants my soul, It wants my heart~
"Yes there is. I have ignored you so far, I can ignore you again." Light said, there was no way he was going to lose this battle.
"No. You can't." The reflection said with an evil smile. "Sooner or later the chance for you to choose between good or evil will come, and you will choose evil. You will fall to me Light."
~I feel it deep within, It's just beneath the skin, I must confess that I feel like a monster~
Light shook his head. He knew it wasn't true. It can't be. Light turned and walked away, he was going to be late for school if he didn't leave.
"You know it's true." He heard a voice whisper in his head. But he ignored it.
~The nightmare's just begun, I must confess that I feel like a monster, I feel like a monster~
