I had a Maths test today and I had the idea for this. I did not get the chance to develop it until next period when I wrote most of it in my planner. Anyway, enjoy my fellow NCIS nerds x

"You ever doubted me?" Gibbs asked her.

"Professionally? Never" Jenny said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Gibbs wondered what he had done to make her doubt him personally.

Jenny did not answer.

"Jen, tell me" Gibbs said and when Jenny did not answer again he uttered a single word which he hardly ever said. "Please"

Jenny's eyes filled with tears before she spoke.

"When I told you I loved you on that bridge in Paris you said 'that'll be the day'" Jenny told him.

"You doubted that I love you?" Gibbs asked her quietly.

Jenny nodded.

"Why, Jen?" He asked her.

"You never told me in words that you loved me" Jenny said, a tear rolling down her face.

"Jen, I always have. I thought you knew that" Gibbs said.

"It was always implied but never declared. I just assumed I was another number" Jenny cried.

"Jen, you aren't. You're the first woman I've loved since..." Gibbs stopped mid sentence; he had not told Jenny about his first wife.

"Since who Jethro?" Jenny asked.

"Since Shannon" Gibbs finished his sentence.

"Shannon? Who's she?" Jenny was scared as to what he was going to say next.

"My first wife. She was killed in 91 with our daughter. Kelly was eight" Gibbs told her silently.

"Jethro..." Jenny whispered before she ran upstairs.

"Jen, come back!" Gibbs called as he ran after her.

She was at the door when he pulled her into a hug while she cried into his shoulder.

"Why didn't you tell me Jethro? I would've understood. I lost my Mother and older sister in a car crash when I was fifteen, and my father died eight years later" Jenny sobbed.

"It hurt too much. I love them, but I love you as well" Gibbs said as he stroked her hair.

Jenny looked up and into the eyes of the man she loved.

"Did I just hear what I think I just heard?" She asked.

"What? That I love you? I do Jen, I always have" He replied simply.

"I love you as well, Jethro" she told him.

Before the two of them knew it, their lips were crashing together.
