Friends forever . . . right?
A Percy Jackson story

. . . nostalgia and melancholy have struck again, so for the umpteenth time, I write it all out.
. . .
AU, obviously. Or rather . . . non-canon, because it follows the book canon, but the future is hopefully much brighter for our favorite heroes.
"As we go on . . .
We remember . . .
All the times we . . .
Had together . . .
And as our lives change
For whatever . . .
We will still be
Friends forever . . ."

When they were t.w.e.l.v.e, (G~r~o~v~er technically 24), they met
P-e-r-c-y met G~r~o~v~er, and eventually, A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h
Going on a quest, how could they not bond?
Those two were the greatest f:r:i:e:n:d:s P-e-r-c-y could ever have
(he just didn't really realize that until maybe a few years later)
When they were t.h.i.r.t.e.e.n, it was another quest((kind of))
This time, though, it was just P-e-r-c-y and A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h
{along with Percy's awesome little bro, Tyson, of course}
This time, it was to save G~r~o~v~e~r
G~r~o~v~e~r, his b_e_s_t and o=n=l=y f:r:i:e:n:d at that horrible Yancy Academy
G~r~o~v~e~r. . . who was about to be a cyclops' wife
When they were f.o.u.r.t.e.e.n, P-e-r-c-y was beginning to expect quests
He was not disappointed
[or rather, he was]
This time, it was to save A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h
A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h, the smart daughter of Athena who could annoy him so much . . .
(but he was starting to love her for that too)
G~r~o~v~e~r was there, along with some new f:r:i:e:n:d:s
It was busy
It was tiring
It was . . . worth it
After all, he saved his best f:r:i:e:n:d, right?
When they were f.i.f.t.e.e.n (or at least, P-e-r-c-y was almost f.i.f.t.e.e.n), it was A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h/'/s quest
This time, it was nerve-wrecking for all of them
G~r~o~v~e~r hated underground
A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h/'/s p*r*o*p*h*e*c*y bothered her . . . somehow
And P-e-r-c-y was almost s.i.x.t.e.e.n
{Tyson was there again, and of course P-e-r-c-y cared . . . but at least he still kept in touch with the big guy}
It was stressful
It was worrying
It . . . hurt
A lot
When they were s.i.x.t.e.e.n, it was the t#i#m#e P-e-r-c-y dreaded
The p*r*o*p*h*e*c*y
His choice
The decision
The fate of the world rested on his shoulders . . .
And while his f:r:i:e:n:d:s say they're with him, everyone knew it really was his own decision
[thank gods he made the right one]
When they grew o.l.d.e.r . . . they drifted

P-e-r-c-yand A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h were d+a+t+i+n+g, but went to different colleges
Halfway across the world
It d|e|p|r|e|s|s|e|d him, it d|e|p|r|e|s|s|e|d them, but they thought they could handle it
L_o_n_g d_i_s_t_a_n_c_e could totally work
They'd make it work
Like everything else
(unfortunately, it didn't)
xXx
With G~r~o~v~e~r, though . . . it was the same thing
They talked, and Iris-messaged, and occasionally called ((but not often)), but the chats got shorter
The IMs and calls stopped coming
They halted to a stop
And G~r~o~v~e~r moved forward, married Juniper(but inviting P-e-r-c-y and A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h to the wedding), and then left P-e-r-c-y at a

Things didn't change much
P-e-r-c-y and A/n/n/a/b/e/t/h and G~r~o~v~e~r were still f:r:i:e:n:d:s, of course ((he thinks))
Those two are still the greatest f:r:i:e:n:d:s((and people)) P-e-r-c-y will probably ever know
They were and are the best
[it's just a matter of if they thought the same about him]
P-e-r-c-y never blamed them
He blamed himself a lot, really
Why didn't he call more? Why'd he wait for the calls? Why didn't he call them?
Why didn't he make arrangements to meet?
Why
Why
Why
The word that r!a!c!e!d through his mind for years
Why
They were f:r:i:e:n:d:s forever, f:r:i:e:n:d:s for life. . . weren't they?
. . . PERCYYYYYYY I'M SORRY FOR DOING THIS TO YOU ;A;
THIS IS COMPLETELY AU.
If not, I die. TT-TT
. . . whew. I need to write more. Anyway, this is basically . . . actually, I dunno anymore. This just flowed right outta me as soon as I reached the Titan's Curse section. I guess it's my own thoughts about people I've met on Fanfiction. (You know who you are.)
I feel like everyone's moving forward with their lives, while I'm trying my best to put it to a halt. I know we won't be friends forever but . . . close enough?
As usual, Doc Manager's retarded and might get rid of spaces or underlining or anyhing, but bare with me?
Thanks for reading and drop a review~
