What would have happened if Oz had returned in 'New Moon Rising' and Willow
had not become romantically involved with Tara?? Read on... and please

(Oz and Willow have been standing outside the campus, it's dark and the full moon stands proudly in the sky. Willow reminisces about when Oz first left her.)
'I never felt so alone Oz, I felt like I was going to die without you. I loved you so much,' Willow began. Her emotions were finally starting to break down in front of him. She had to let him know how much he had hurt her, but seeing him like this was also painful for her.
'I.. I had to get away,' Oz replied. He realised that nothing he could say would make up for months of no contact and most of all the loneliness she must have endured. 'But, I'm a different person now,' he continued, 'Going overseas was intense but I've learnt to. control it. I want, what I want is to be with you again Will. ' Willow looked at his face and their eyes met. His were moist. She was beginning to feel cold as the night drew further on. 'Come inside, I'd like you to come inside with me,' she said as she pulled her coat around her still tighter.
As they made their way up to the dorm, neither knew what to say. Willow unlocked the door and immediately noticed that Buffy was gone. What did she feel? Relieved, glad, a little frightened maybe? Oz who had just shut the door gently behind him as he stood at the threshold of the room interrupted her thoughts suddenly. She stood watching him as he removed his coat and then began to take hers off too. She felt like a child again as she rotated slowly so that he could unwrap the sheepskin fleece from around her.
She felt close to tears. His touch was so gentle, even more so than hers she thought. They stood close to one another as Oz breathed in her scent once more. Willow closed her eyes as he held her by the waist. They danced slowly, really glided around the room to their own soft music. Willow wasn't sure if she had used her magic at all but at this moment, it wasn't important. Nothing was more important to her than him. Both of them came to a halt in the middle of the room. Willow opened her eyes and Oz whispered as he held her hands, 'I thought that if I came back, things couldn't be the same as they were, but I had to come back to see you, even if was just to see you just once more.'
'Now was the right time Oz,' Willow whispered, 'I. I need you.'
