Prologue: Hi I'm Caoimhe O'Sullivan, I'm fifteen years old and I'm a dancer. I moved here to Dance Central with my parents a year ago. Dad has a drinking problem nothing too serious but a problem nonetheless so I try to avoid my house. This is the story of how my days as a dancer started:

It was the day of the Riptide auditions. I couldn't wait because even though I was only living here for the last few months I knew Riptide have serious street cred here. I looked around the beach nervously, observing all the brilliant dancers showing off their best moves.

"Shoot", I thought to myself. "How the hell am I going to make the crew with all this competition?"

Just as I started to stretch a guy with blonde curly hair, red and white shorts, a long sleeved red, white and grey top, a black sleeveless coat and the biggest grin known to mankind came along.

"Alright guys, I'm Bodie and this to my right is Mo" said Bodie cheerfully. I realised there was a dark-skinned guy in dark skinny jeans, an emergency coloured t shirt and orange/brown hoodie. "Now don't get too used to Mo since he's only here 'cause my partner Emilia couldn't make it today."

"Anyway," Mo informed. "Here's how your auditions gonna go: Bodies gonna teach you a quick routine, then you'll go into groups, perform it and do a thirty second freestyle. If we like what we see you're in."

"Thank you Mo", Bodie said. "Keep in mind only two of you will get in, so go for it and do your best."

Just then we started a routine to The Humpty Dance. I had to resist laughing since I just find that song hilarious. I really don't know why. I'll admit that the bug juice move was giving me some issues so I just prayed that wouldn't be my Achilles heel.

"OK, well done", Bodie praised. Now there's 1,2,3...32."So can I have you down at the back?" He asked pointing to a tall girl, "and you in the second line?" pointing to a guy with an afro. This went on for a few minutes until everyone had a group.

"These are your groups," Mo told us. "Do the dance and a thirty second freestyle and when you're finished wait for the others to come up. Once everyone's finished we'll tell you how you'll know if you get through. Now this your time, so bring some energy to it."

My group was fifth up so I got to see how other people found it. I noticed the thing people most struggled with was freestyle. "Thank God freestyle is something I'm good" at I muttered to myself. Soon it was our turn. I managed the bug juice move fine to my surprise and then came the freestyle.

I decided to do some popping and locking for it and I thought it turned out great. Before I knew it our time was up so I bolted towards the nearest water bottle I could find and drank it like there was no tomorrow. By the time I was finished it was time to gather round.

"Great job everyone" Bodie praised. "Now only two of you will get through. Whom that is I'll discuss with Mo but if you get a text within the next week congratulations you've made it. Sorry if you didn't get in but there are other crews looking for dancers like Mo's Hi-Def. So thanks everyone for coming out and have a good day."
