"Korra, you must remain calm if you wish to come up with a solution.", lectured the airbending master.
"How am I suppose to remain calm? A group of terrorists is roaming around trying to kill me and take over the world, and I'm powerless to stop them. I'm suppose to have all this help from my past lives, all this infinite wisdom, but I can't connect no matter how hard I try.", yelled by the Avatar. "Vatuu won when her severed my bond with Raava."
"It's true that Vatuu damaged your connection to your past lives when he separated you and Raava, and you may never again be able to seek their wisdom or use their experiences to guide you."
"Gee, thanks for pointing that out."
"But you are still the Avatar, Korra. I've seen you overcome obstacles using your own wisdom, and I believe that you will overcome this one as well. Perhaps you should spend some time examining yourself to find the answer to the Red Lotus problem."
"Sure thing, Tenzin. I'll be sure to do some soul searching before Zaheer shows up to kidnap me again.", mocked Korra.
"I'll leave you to it then.", said Tenzin dejectedly as he made to exit the room. "I know that this situation seems bleak at the moment, but I believe in you, Korra, and I'm here if you ever need to talk.", added the airbender before leaving her to her meditation.
Yeah, a lot of good this is doing me. I've been meditating for over an hour all I've learned is that I still can't figure out what to do about Zaheer and his goons, thought Korra, relaxing her posture as her stomach started growling. And that rice with lychee nuts is not enough for dinner. She sat there holding her face in her hands, ready to burn down the useless, wooden meditation spot. "Good job, Korra, still wanting to solve everything with violence and your bending.", said the Avatar. "Avatar Korra, the only Avatar to disrupt the entire Avatar Cycle in the history or Avatars. I bet my past lives are probably laughing at me right now." Korra stood then, stretching her aching arms and legs before heading back down the path towards Tenzin's home. I bet Aang would be able to tell me how to fix this, he saved the whole world from the Fire Lord when he was only twelve. I don't know how I'm suppose to do this Avatar thing without any of the previous Avatars help, I'm not ready for this.
"But you do have the Avatar's help."
"Who's there?", asked the waterbender, spinning on her heel, her hands flaming up in preparation for battle.
"Do not fear young Avatar."
"Raava?", asked Korra. "Is that you?"
"Yes, Korra, I am hear to help you.", answered the spirit.
"Unless you can connect me to my past lives, then I don't think you can help.", replied Korra, lowering her fists.
"I know how hard this has been on you, but you must stay strong, young Avatar. You still have all the strength and wisdom of the Avatar within you."
"How, I can't talk to Aang, or Kyoshi, or Roku, and even when I use the Avatar State it's nothing like before? It's just me now."
"That is enough, you are still the Avatar, Korra. You have you're own strength still, and all of your experiences from defeating Amon and the Equalists as well as Vatuu. You do not need to fret over what was lost when I was torn from you, but focus on what is left. Have faith in yourself, Korra, you are stronger than you believe."
"You think that I can defeat the Red Lotus on my own?", asked the Avatar. "I don't know if that's possible."
"But you are not alone, child, I am always here with you. When Wan and I first joined together to create the first Avatar, he had no past experiences or help, but still managed to bring as much balance to the world during his time as he could. You may not be able to contact your past lives, but our connection will not fade, Korra. You will be the beginning of a new Avatar Cycle and the wisdom you gain from your trials will be used to guide the next Avatar on their journey. I have promised you many times over the years that I will forever be a part of you."
"I don't remember you ever telling me that.", said Korra confusedly.
"Not in this life, but in many others that we shared before. You see, Korra you are simply a link in the chain of Avatars, so even if the chain becomes broken you are still a link."
"So you're saying that even though I can't connect with Aang and my other past lives, that I can still bring balance back to the world because I'm the Avatar. I have you, and all the experiences I've had, and the wisdom I gained from Aang and the others before we were separated. I still have past Avatar wisdom because I'm the Avatar."
"Yes, and don't forget that I'm here for you as well, Korra."
"Thank you, Raava. I think that Tenzin was right, I did need to look inside myself for the answer, and now I know that I'll be able to defeat the Red Lotus and Zaheer. I won't let them throw the world into chaos, I will restore balance as the Avatar.", said Korra, feeling more powerful than she had in months. I still have my power, my wisdom. I can do this.
