AN: Yeah. I was listening to Fall, by Something Corporate, and this all just sort of stumbled out. 200 words. Wrote it in a couple of minutes, added some things, then decided that I better post it before I change everything in it. I don't really like it. Bleh. I might end up taking it down a week later and re-writing it completely different. We'll say.

Takes place, obviously, after Jess tells Rory he loves her. It's been done, I know. I don't care.

Disclaimer: Song isn't mine, characters aren't mine.

Now I'm believing all the words you say
That I can't say back to you

"I love you."

The words rang out, and it felt like time was paused. She looks away, her eyes almost beginning to water. She doesn't want to believe him. She wishes that he would take it back. She wishes he hadn't run after her, she doesn't want to listen to him anymore. The wind picks up, and her hair falls across her face. For a moment she is eighteen again, she is eighteen and she loves him so much, and she pushes back her hair, startled for a second by how short it is. She is brought back to the present and he is turning like he wants to leave. She's happy, so happy and so sad that he's leaving again, and she sees his face, and suddenly she realizes how much she misses him. She opens her mouth to speak, pushing out words that trip over each other, not making any sense, and she has no idea what she's doing except she doesn't want him to leave anymore. She is talking just to be talking, just to keep him here with her. He smiles a little, and she believes every word that comes out of his mouth.
