It was a strange feeling to describe but, seeing the flower-girl standing at the edge of the cliff, staring out at the raging sea was both alluring and frightening. Lightning flashed across the horizon, indicating that a storm was nearby, yet Aeris still made no move to come back towards the hotel. He ran a hand through his hair before walking over to her.

He reached out his hand to touch her shoulder, alerting her or his presence but she turned her head before he had a chance and fixed him a beautiful smile. For a moment, he was sure that his heart had stopped at the beautiful image. She turned back towards the view and Cloud remembered why he had approached.

"Shouldn't you be inside? With the storm coming and all?"

She laughed slightly and shook her head. "I don't think it'll come this far. I think it's heading back to Midgar," she replied.

"I don't want to take any chances. Come on, get back inside Aeris," he said. She glanced at him again, a smirk forming on her lips.

"You worry about me far too much Cloud. I'll be fine!"

Cloud shook his head and turned away. Aeris could be so stubborn sometimes, he knew when it was pointless to argue. He looked over his shoulder one last time, just checking she really was okay, before he disappeared into the hotel. Maybe he was being overprotective but he didn't really care. There's no harm in protecting the ones you love after all.
