Hi, this one is a little unconventional and weird, but please ignore the weirdness and look at the big picture.

3rd Impact: Shinji gets the choice to create a new world and for once he uses the opportunity.

He wishes that he is the only one to remember that the Angels even existed and everyone gets a new life, including him.

As a five years old, he gets adopted into a family and starts living again, only to find that his new father is abusive (worst thing is that he's sober when he "punishes" them for something or another), his new mother is an alcoholic and a druggie and his new sister is terrified of both of them.

Being sick of always running away in his former life, Shinji, now Ken Hidaka, bears the brunt of the abuse and protects his older sister from his parents.

After his mother dies from an OD and his father starts focusing on and looking at his sister, Shinji/Ken tells someone he trusts what was going on and sends his sister to them. His body is now 14 years old and his only joy in life, now that his sister is gone, is soccer – his new passion – and his best friend Kase.

We all know how well that ends: Kase betrays him – like Kaworu did - and Ken ends up as an assassin.

After he meets Siberian on several missions and they fight one on one, Schuldig gets disturbing visions of giant mechas, death, despair and destruction. Curious, he starts to dig deeper into his enemies mind and finds out things he would rather not have known.

Schuldig confronts Ken about it and demands to know the bits and pieces that were still missing (the telepath found them too gruesome to watch).

Ken tells him, but only under the condition that the Schwarz never tells anyone and thus it is the start of a wonderful friendship, that could change into something more would the soccer player, get over his trust issues with potential love interests.

Another thing that bothers Ken is that his sister's letters have stopped being delivered to him and when Asuka shows up unexpectedly, it means sink or swim and the flood is already coming.
