Undying Rage against Unyielding Time
By: The Insane Inquisitor

A poem describing the moment when the Doctor snapped

Author's note: you know that moment where, on Mars, the Doctor finally had enough and decides to act, for better or for worse?
This is a poetic interpretation of that scene. Contains a single quote from "Journey's End".

The last Gallifreyan, he now walks alone,
Upon the red planet that is war god's throne.
Screams of horror and panic ring through his ears,
A sound still not numb despite his long lived years.

The only escape route faces compromise,
It must end with three souls facing their demise.
The rocket blossoms as a tower of flame,
Even as The Flood seek to hunt down their game.

The force propelled the Time Lord into Mars' dust,
With burning debris scattered onto Mars' crust.
Amongst the metal scraps The Doctor now stands,
Inside his heart, he finally understands.

Undying rage against time immutable,
Why must he always keep the timeline stable?
Through his existence, he had seen enough loss,
He must turn the table and be his own boss.

Unyielding time has meant all to him before;
As Dalek Caan did once, he decreed "no more."
Good people, companions, are forever;
None deserves to die just for some old order.

Striding through the entrance hatch, his eyes ablaze,
He leads the three souls through Time's trap laden maze.
This is The Doctor's rage against the heaven,
His life ends not now; he will live on as Ten.

As the TARDIS departs, The Doctor pauses,
He defied Time's dictatorial clauses.
He now finds himself forever glorious,
He now stands proud, "the Time Lord victorious!"

Hope you find this to your taste.
Until next time
