It is the end of all hope
To loose the child the faith
To end all the innocence
To be someone like me
'HAVE YOU LOST WHAT'S LEFT OF YOUR MIND GROM?!'
The words sound in my head so clearly, even now. Yes... yes, I think I have... At first, when I heard that, I was furious with you, Thrall. You knew how great was the bloodlust I had to fight; you knew how hard and painful it was for me to fight it, and yet you scolded me like I was a foolish child... But now... I see how right you were. I have lost not only my mind, but my will as well, the moment I fell for Mannoroth's trap...
No will to wait for this morn
To see another black rose born
Deathbed's slowly covered with snow
"Demon spawned wretches" the Demigod called us... That was no longer true, but in my wrath I did all to make those words come true once more...
Angels, they fell first but I'm still here
Alone as they are drawing near
In heaven my masterpiece will finally be sung
I drank the water, corrupted by Mannoroth's blood and became corrupted myself. The Demigod fell, but it was the demon's victory, not mine. And when I screamed out the words of this victory, my soul screamed in defeat. Mannoroth defeated the Demigod, but Cenarius triumphed over me.
Wounded is the deer that leapt highest
And my wound it cuts so deep
Turn off the light and let me pull the plug
It hurt Thrall. If only you knew how it hurt! Mannoroth's fire burned me from and devoured my soul.
'You did this to our people KNOWINGLY?!' Yes, Thrall, I did. And I paid my price doubly. First, the pain, the constant bloodlust. Second, the shame. The conscience of what I have done.
I hoped that it would lessen, when you came and brought me back to my senses, but it got even worse. And then, I knew what I must do and that it was my responsibility. 'Mannoroth. We must face Mannorotha in the canyon.'
Mandylion without a face
Deathwish without a prayer
My axe pierced his body. The flame that had burned me from within now surrounded me from outside. Yet I did not scream. Only waited. Waited for my hopes to come true.
End of hope
End of love
End of time
The rest is silence
Silence filled the air as I fell to the ground, powerless, but happy. And free, for the first time in many, many years.
'Thrall... the blood haze has lifted... the demon's fire has burned out in my veins... I... have... freed... myself...'
And, as I begun to drift away, tears filled your eyes. Tears you thought I would not see. And you spoke words you believed I could not hear. But I did.
'No, old friend. You've freed us all...'
This is the birth of all hope
To have what I once had
This life unforgiven
It will end with a birth
I shall never leave you, Thrall, my little brother. I will watch you and our people. What for me was the end, for them is a beginning, for you as well. A new life, without the demons and the cursed bloodlust. A life in peace in a land they may call their own. And that is all I have ever hoped for.
How happy I was to know, dying, that my death will bring a birth of hope to our people and to you, little brother.
As for me, all my hopes ended, but they ended fulfilled. It is then a happy end.
End of all hope
