Note: I do not own Pokemon… or its characters. If I did I would be writing this on Fanficiton?
"You know Ash, it's been awhile since we last talked hasn't it," a young brunette by the name of May said to the little object that sat in front of her.
"So many things have happened I don't know where to begin," she said chuckling to herself.
"Let me think… My journey through Shinnoh has been a little rocky. Don't rush to conclusions, it's not because of Drew this time, he's actually been a lot nicer to me here recently. I'm just stuck in some sort of a rut, I guess you could say. Harley and Soledad have been trying to help me practice and get back into routine; the problem is I just don't seem to be able to focus. But don't you worry I'll be out of it and back to my old self in no time."
May tilted her head from side-to-side trying to remember what their friends had been up to these past few months.
"Dawn's been doing great in the Kanto contest circuit. She's even projected to place first for this year's ribbon cup. And on a bonus note for her, her designs for Pokemon fashion are becoming big hits."
"Iris has been doing fine as well. Her Dragonite and Excadrill have finally learned to fully listen to her. I even hear that she's even taking Alder's place as Unova's Champion. Isn't that great?"
"Cilian…well Cilian is Cilian. Though I hear that he and Burgundy have ended their feud, or would it be better to say that Burgundy has become less shelf absorbed."
May could see Ash's head was bowed moving from side to side, either he was laughing at that particular event or remembering Burgundy's less that pleasant personality, she couldn't tell.
"Gary and Misty have started dating you know? I was shocked as well when I first heard, but when you stop and think about it they sorta go good together don't you think?"
"Oh shoot I can't believe I forgot to mention, Brock's got himself a girlfriend. Lucy, you remember her right, Kanto's Pike Queen? Apparently it was mutual affection, though it took us some work to get them to confess to each other."
May chuckled lightly, remembering how frustrated everyone had gotten trying to get those two too admit their feelings and how it nearly drove her and her friends insane, "The two of them were so afraid that the other didn't like them back and that if they said anything it would ruin their friendship."
Her bright smile became less happy turning into more of a grim mask, a shadow of a smile, and her voice took on a regretful tone as she continued reminiscing over their friends and family.
"Your mom's gotten better you know? It took Professor Oak months to help her. At first she refused to admit there was anything wrong with her. But with the Professor's help she final admitted her problems and with his and Tracey's help she's accepted what happened."
She could almost see the concerned look in his eyes, the way his brow furrowed when he was thinking over something that bothered him, and his lips tightening the way they did when he was worried about someone.
She could swear she felt his hand on her shoulder, reaching out to comfort her as he always did when she was upset.
May's eyes began to water, tears threatening to spill over, as she read the small square stone in front of her.
Ashton Satoshi 'Ash' Ketchum
May 22, 1992-April 17, 2007
The boy who saved the world, yet when he need help the world couldn't save him.
"Why?" May asked as a small sob escaped from her throat, "Why did you have to leave me Ash?"
The young brunette sobbed in front of the grave of the boy who had stolen her heart then vanished from this world, taking it with him.
Note: This is the first (Slightly) sad story I have ever completed. Please review.
