Explanation: Bella really wants to be a vampire more than anything in the world, so she makes Edward promise that she'll get her dream soon. But, there's new kids in town and Edward seems to be pretty close to them..

Prologue

Desperation

No thousand words could describe my love for Edward Cullen. His icy cold skin, his perfect face-and even the fact that he was a vampire. A vampire that was crazy for my blood, and my love. And, as the night sky drew closer and closer, I sat ready for his return. As usual, he would show up at my window as soon as he knew Charlie was asleep. He would slip in, and spend all night sitting beside me. Of corse, he wouldn't sleep-vampires don't. But he'd keep me company, and that was what I loved. Then, he'd slip away in the morning as if he'd never been here.

This particular night, Charlie was taking an early night and was off to bed in a flash. He said he hadn't been feeling well, not for two days now. I knew it wouldn't take long for Edward to show up. "Dad, are you sure you don't want me to fetch a sick bucket and sit beside you tonight?" I'd asked, not really intending on doing so.

"Bella," he sighed. "Reallly, I can do stuff on my own you know. I am perfectly capable of looking after myself, I'll be fine. You get your sleep."

"Fine," I replied, not showing my sudden slight relief. Nevertheless, I helped him into his bedroom before escaping to my own. Just as I'd expected, Edward arrived not long after.

"Bella," He slipped through the window I'd opened for him moments before.

"Hi." I smiled slightly.

He looked at me, with hopeful eyes. "You aren't still thinking about that, are you?"

Now I sighed, despite him not being able to read my mind he was pretty good at guessing. "Edward-"

"Bella, seriously..." His eyes turned very serious now. "Becoming... one of us, it's not really what you think you know."

He'd told me this so many times before! "Edward! Let's just... not talk about that tonight, okay?"

He was shocked at what I'd said. "O-Okay." He looked at me properly now, with a faint smile.

I faked a smile so he wouldn't see, what I want and what I'm needing-everything that I could be...
