They laid in the nice, warm bed. Their legs entangled around each other, and hints of bed head. His arm tucked across her midsection, and her head laying on his chest. Her in his big, grey sweater, and him in just his boxers. This was the first time in a while they both felt peace. They'd had quite a hectic few months, and finding time to be together was impossible. He was awake, and just sat there watching her. Her beautiful golden hair was a tangled mess, but he thought it was the cutest thing ever. Never in a million years would he ever think he'd fall in love with a werewolf. Let alone one as gorgeous as her. He wasn't considered handsome. He was lanky & awkward at best. Fortunately, she found something in him that was special. She dug down and found something in Stiles Stilinski that was worth it. And he was grateful. He just recently joined the pack, and she made him feel so welcome. For the first time in forever, he felt like he belonged. It was all because of her. And Scott, of course.
Stiles always felt bad about completely ignoring her. I mean, she was an epileptic nerd for lord's sake. Every time she tried to talk to him, he'd just brush her off. He did it for years. Then, one day, she had an accident in class. They were climbing the wall in gym, and she slipped and had a seizure. The next day, she came back a changed woman. A werewolf. From that day on, Stiles felt the need to protect her. Yeah, it's silly. Why would he feel the need to protect a werewolf, but Stiles saw the Erica that not very many people saw. She was vulnerable. She may have been tough on the outside, but on the inside, she was still the Erica she'd always been. The Erica he grew to love. He became her Batman, and she became his Catwoman.
Stiles felt Erica squirm in his arms, and looked down to see her looking up at him.
"Good morning, handsome," she grinned. Her hair all in array. Stiles couldn't help but laugh.
"Good morning, beautiful."
He bent down and placed a light kiss on her lips. He got the same fluttery feeling in his stomach that he got every time they kissed. When he pulled back, Erica was smiling. He stared at her for a few seconds. Never breaking eye contact with her. Those beautiful blue eyes were mesmerizing. He wanted to get lost in this moment forever. Screw Derek, Isaac, and everyone else. He just wanted to be with Erica. Was that so much to ask? Sadly, yes. He knew they couldn't last forever. A human and a werewolf, how was that going to work? He didn't care. Just having her now was enough. He didn't worry about the future. He just cared about what was happening now. All the moments they spent together.
The moment was broken by the sound of Stiles's dad's car door slamming. The two jerked their bodies.
"Shit. It's my dad. I was hoping he'd be home later."
"Well, he's not."
Erica jumped out of the bed, and raced to collect her clothes. She threw on her pants in a blur of motion, then her shoes, and quickly ran and kissed Stiles. Despite being in a hurry, she kissed him a little longer than usual.
"I'll give you your shirt back, tomorrow." Erica winked before she jumped out the back window.
Stiles didn't check to see if she was on the ground; he knew she was. He pulled the covers over his head, and pretending to be asleep. The whole time, contemplating what he already knew.
He was in love.
