A Few Little Words

It was Valentines Day and Li was out shopping for a gift, for his love. He went looking for something that would fit her liking. Chocolates? What if she hates chocolates?! This was driving him mad. He wanted to express his feelings somehow but it appears that this approach wasn't working. Finally, he decided just to quit it. It wasn't going to work. He wasn't going to find the perfect gift. He was walking home, browsing over his unpleasant thoughts while other celebrated Valentines with bliss. Snow began to fall and his heart ached for his special someone..
"Why so glum, Li?"
Not even thinking, he replied absently, "Nothing much. You….." He was speechless. The girl that he loved was stunned and thought he didn't want to see her. "Good bye." He didn't know what to do. Li wanted to show his love somehow, give her a gift but the simplest gift was a few words. Those few words sprung out of his mind and he took a chance, a chance that could reveal his heart.
"I love you."
She turned around, her eyes stunned and herself shocked. She didn't know what to say. She never really thought he would return those feelings. "I don't … I don't know what to say." As Li heard those words, his heart sank and he felt crushed. But she didn't stop there. "I love you too. I love you too."
And because of a few simple words, Li had given the most desired wish to the girl he loved and she who loved him.
