A/N: This one-shot is about the life of Maono who is in my other story "Kipofu: Through My Blind Eye".

Maono has been blind since his birth to a lioness who ended up dying while baring him and a male who died protecting them from a rogue. He was then adopted by two nomad lionesses who had formed a romantic relationship. One lioness who was called Nyota, was white with gold eyes. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved Maono till her dying breath. The other, a dark brown and mint green eyed lioness named Ajabu had a tough exterior in order to protect her mate and son. The boy had a strong personality and loved to hunt despite his lack of vision, learning to cope with it by using his remaining senses to his advantage. The two females eventually decided no longer to be nomads due to the danger it posed to their sightless cub. The family came across the Pride Lands while searching for a place to call home. They were welcomed with open paws as Maono showed no interest in trying to challenge cub Simba for the throne. It was very rare that he played with the other pride cubs because he preferred to practice his hunting skills. There was an exception, however, a cub named Kiroho who was tan with a black mane tuft and blue eyes. He was a spiritual boy, connecting emotionally to each and every other creature with whom he cane into contact whether he liked it or not. It seemed as though their cubhood flew by as they grew into teenagers. While all the other teens began to have romantic feelings for one of their choosing, Maono and Kiroho had none. They believed there was nothing wrong with them, they simply had no interest in mates. Stronger and stronger they grew, practicing their fighting skills with one another as they reached adulthood. Nyota and Ajabu were proud of their only adopted child, guiding him sternly yet lovingly throughout his life. The male also trained with Rafiki who taught him as well as Kiroho to channel their senses and energy more efficiently through spirituality along with wisdom. He would soon prove a great teacher when the time came for he saw more in the world than any sighted creature could ever imagine.
