This is my first story on this site, the first chapters really, really but is a way for me to see if anyone is interested in seeing me write more based on my style of writing. I hope that you enjoy it.

The morning was young, the light barely reaching past the tall trees that encompassed a small village. The drops of morning dew edged to the end of their pilgrimage from the sky, before making a final descent onto the unforgiving earth, never to be remembered.

Her breath came out slowly, rhythmically as if set to a pace, unmoveable to change, her soft red hair cascading across the mattress supporting her. Her face, a soft ivory with high cheekbones that embodied a quality of nobility. A thin white quilt shielding her from exposure of limbs and elements as it flowed around her. This fragile tranquillity, so delicately held would soon be broken as a tidal wave of energy crashing throughout the corridors toward this small sanctuary. This bombardment mercilessly colliding against the barrier which vainly attempted to protect the untouched serenity of the room; the force was unstoppable as it burst through the barrier as though it was paper. "Okaa-chan, it's my birthday wake up, wake up!" A young boy exclaimed excitedly as he jumped upon his mother's bed-an act of which he repeated several times-slowly her eyelids cracked open as if they were palace gates revealing the splendour of its castle to the world, in a realm of white a ring of violet encased a small contracting bead of black. The figure raised her head, allowing her to see that which was most precious to her, as she looked upon this cherished treasure she took note of his smooth tanned skin that contrasted heavily upon her own, his blonde hair appeared as strings of gold as it spiked randomly like flares from the sun, three heavy black scars marked his cheeks on both sides giving him a feline appearance, his smile was wide and full of childish innocence, lastly her eyes found that of which they were searching for two jewels upon this treasure that she was always drew to they shone with a light blue reminiscent of the sky in the early months of spring. "Okay" she began "let's go celebrate."
