It had snowing for nearly six hours when Harry Potter arrived at his destination. Tiny flakes of snow had settled in his hair and on his robes, but he didn't mind. He kept walking, until he found his destination- the tiny creaking gate that marked the entrance to the graveyard in Godric's Hollow. He could feel a rush of de ja vu as he walked in, but was glad that this time, Hermione was not with him. It was his first Christmas since the war and this was something he wanted to do ever since he had won. It only felt right- he had visited Dumbledore hours after the war but not his own family. And so he had politely turned down the Weasley's annual invitation, Ron's offer of spending Christmas playing Quidditch , Ginny's offer of a quiet Christmas at his new home and Professor McGonagall's offer of a Christmas at Hogwarts. There wasn't much of a difference since his last visit and he quickly made his way towards his parent's graves. He paused on his way at the graves or Kendra and Ariana Dumbledore and laid a flower before each. He walked on to his parents' graves which were much the same as before. Only this time, next to his father's was a black marble grave, belonging to Harry's godfather- Sirius Black. He knew it was empty, but it just felt right to have a grave for him. Next to it were two more graves, one of a light brown marble and the other of Cream Jade Granite. The first belonged to Remus Lupin and the second to his wife, Tonks.

Harry laid down a wreath of flowers before each and then stared at the graves for a few minutes, allowing the moisture in his eyes to cloud his vision. He closed them and let the memories engulf him- memories of his parents from the Pensieve, of his godfather in his shrunken form after spending 12 years in Azkaban, his former Defence Against the Dark Arts' gentle bearing despite being a werewolf and of Tonks, the gifted Auror who was forever tripping over things.

The tears spilled over and the pain and longing became too much. "Merry Christmas, guys", he whispered into the darkness, pulled out his Invisibility Cloak and made his way out of the lonely graveyard.
