The Ultimate Betrayal

Ring. I was starting to panic but who else could I call? Stupid Morelli. Ring. I can't believe he would do that. Why would he do that? Ring. Why would he betray me like this?
Ring. Why won't Ranger pick up!
"Babe."
"Come over now!"
"Be there in five."

It was an agonizing five minutes. Usually it feels less like an hour and more like five minutes whenever Ranger says five minutes.
There was a light knock on the door. Ranger knocking? Impossible.
I went and opened the door.
"Babe." There was a tick of a second hand somewhere before he spoke again. " What's the emergency?"
"You won't believe what Morelli did!"
Ranger only raised his brow slightly to let me know to get on with it. Ranger was patient like that.
"You have to see."
I led him to the kitchen where it was waiting, the stupid stupidness that was Morelli's work.
I stood him in front of my kitchen cabinets where he could very clearly see the big ass lock on my cabinet handles that kept them closed.
I saw Ranger's lips twitch a little upwards. He trying hard not to show it but he was smiling.
"What's behind the doors?"
"My only stash of tasty cakes for the day." I must have pouted from the smile on Ranger's face.
"Babe. I was in the middle of a meeting when you called."

A/N: I wrote this some time ago and I rediscovered it. =) This was when I was seeing A LOT of fics about how Morelli betrays Stephanie… so I decided to write one of my own. Hope this thought amused you as much as it amused me.
