TRUE HAPPINESS

When my family died on an accident I could not bear to be in Japan anymore. It has all of their memory after all. So I couldn't possibly think of happiness here. So I left. I have gone to many places of the world. But I couldn't find any happiness anywhere. I always felt like I have left something dear to me. But I never imagined it would be you.
That night after I saw you in my dream I suddenly had this weird wish to be in Japan beside you. But after so many year I couldn't muster enough strength to go back. It was raining like crazy that night. I couldn't sleep. At that time my phone rang. Seeing the country code of the number I could tell it was from Japan…
"Moshi moshi", I said firmly after answering the phone call.
"Ah… Is it you Tezuka?"
"Oishi", it has been long but his voice hasn't change that much.
"Tezuka…"
I could tell his voice was shaking on the other line.
"What is it?"
"Tezuka, it's Fuji…"
The next morning I caught the earliest plane to Japan. After reaching the airport I went straight where you were…at the hospital.
"Fuji… he got into a car accident…"
My heart sank after hearing this. Even now my heart pains me so much. I couldn't be more careless. After reaching the hospital I saw everyone. Your brother took me to your room. It seems like the accident has done some damage to your body. But at least it was repairable. The doctor said that they don't know how long it would take for you to wake up.
Many days passed after that. All I could do was to sit by your side and pray to the god. And there was nothing more I could for you. Nothing at all.
The day when you finally opened your eyes, it was a mixture of emotions. There were love, happiness, fear. And it was the day when I finally found what I have been looking for so many years.
It has been two months since that day. The memories before that day were painful but it was worth it. It was worth it for what I have been looking for.
"Mitsu, dinner is ready", your cheerful voice from inside the house came. I open my eyes which I have closed to keep hold of tears. I turn around to see you standing the glass door. I got up from the grass took a little look at the sky and went inside with you. This is my true happiness.
