Gears Of War:

The Fight

Diclaimer: I don't own anything to do with GOW and I'm not making any money…. But you should know that already.

AN: This is the first story that I've ever written so don't expect a masterpiece here. Let me know if you have any suggestions on what to add to the story. Please suggest a better name.

Prologue

At 12:00 am last night a we lost contact with several major cities around and we still await news on the cause of that incident. We have yet to receive word from any of the cities and all related governments have refused to comment. We anxiously await news from the effected areas……….

This is reporter Jason O'brian live in New York! We are currently flying over what was the Statue of Liberty but as you can see it and much of the city are now in ruin. At approximitly 3:00 pm last night dozens of gigantic holes appeared in the ground. Hundreds of strange creatures came out of them and began to kill indescriminately. Many civilians were gunned down in the streets by these beings while others were eaten alive by other, smaller but more fierce creatures. The army is attemping to to fight them but is losing more ground every minute. I'm here flying over New York watching what may well be it's last sunset. OH MY GOD! There's some sort of flying creatures coming out of the ground and their eating everything! Their flying at us, someone close that door! OH GOD THEIR INSIDE…...

Today the worlds governments formed the Conglomerate Of Government to enable them to better work together to fight the Locust hordes. To this day more than two million people have died from the Locust invasion and several countries have been completely destroyed but there is now some hope for the future…..

It has been 5 long years since the COG was formed and have we done? We have lost a lot of ground and a lot of good men to the Locust. We've leveled several of our own cities with space based weapons in an effort to stop the Locust but nothings worked. Every day I lose dozens of men trying to slow the Locust advance and they still keep coming. The only hope now is that we don't run out of bodies to throw at them.
