Darkness was all she could see. It didn't help the fact that she had an aching dull pain in her chest. A thought flitted through her mind as she realized that she wasn't going to be able to say goodbye to her boyfriend. Her mind was going through all of the possibilities of why she was lying on the ground. Voices were surrounding her, but they were all muffled.
This must be what it's like to die, she realized. I love you, Don.
The pain subsided as she closed her eyes, a smile lighting up her pale features. If she had to go, then she'd go happy. Knowing she made her mark on the world. Sure Don was going to be pissed, but it didn't matter. She was dying and there was nothing they could do.
She lied there as her blood seeped onto the ground of the crime scene. She had survived the diner shoot out, and yet she was dying alone. The reason of her death was a personal cause, a sister coming to exact revenge on her brother's killer. But the woman hadn't had the choice to let him live. If she didn't shoot him, he would've killed her best friend, her lover, her partner. There was a bright light and she walked toward it. Those were her last moments on earth.
3 Days Later
Her spirit watched as they buried her body. People were sobbing; Lindsay and Stella being the biggest blubbering messes. He just stood there, his eyes devoid of any emotions. A bright light was flashed and she knew she had to go to the afterlife, now that she was properly buried. Her last thought before she left was:
Don, I hope you find someone to spend the rest of your life with. You deserve to be happy.
He blinked as if he heard her, but she knew he didn't.
